Did you know that the colors you choose to wear have a huge impact on how others perceive you – especially when presenting as a woman?
Colors convey subtle messages that can influence whether you appear more feminine or masculine.
So, if your goal is to look more feminine as a crossdresser or transgender woman, paying attention to the colors of your clothes and accessories is essential!
In this blog post on trans / crossdressing transformation tips, I share the meanings of 12 different colors and what they project about your female self.
White
White is associated with purity and innocence, which is why it’s traditionally worn by brides. Wear white if you want to look pure, pristine, and impeccable.
Blue
Light blue sends messages of peace, trust, and understanding. Dark blue is associated with authority and masculinity (think police uniforms), so use this color sparingly.
The best shades of blue for crossdressers and transgender women are light blue and baby blue.
Pink
Pink is the color of love and romance. No surprisingly, it’s also the most feminine color, so you may want to incorporate plenty of pink into your wardrobe.
Red
Red is the most intense color of all and is associated with passion, desire, love, and sexuality. Wear red if you want to be noticed.
Black
Black is associated with power, elegance, and formality. Wear black when you want to look sophisticated and mysterious.
Purple
Purple communicates mystery, magic, and creativity. This is a great color to wear if you want to add a touch of fantasy to your look.
Green
Light green symbolizes freshness and youthfulness, while dark green is associated with money and ambition. Wear a gorgeous shade of green to add a fresh, feminine vibe to your look.
Yellow
Yellow is the color of joy and energy. Wear yellow to show off your fun, playful side. Avoid yellow when you want to be taken seriously.
Orange
Like yellow, orange is associated with joy, enthusiasm, and attraction. This is a great color to wear when you want to liven things up.
Brown
Brown is a stable, wholesome, and down-to-earth color. Wear brown for mellow occasions or if you want to appear reliable and genuine.
Gray
Gray is a great color to wear when you need to come across as professional and trustworthy. Too much gray can get boring though, so be sure to punch it up with some fun colors.
Beige
Beige is a simple, conservative color that’s friendly, approachable and non-threatening. It’s perfect for times when you want people to open up to you.

P.S. Color is a HUGE topic that doesn’t just relate to clothes. Hair and makeup are equally important!

I’m like Britney J in the respect I wish I could have chosen multiple colors. My attire is extremely important to me since I am “en femme” 24/7 as I have been full time for almost a year. It’s really hard to choose one color, since I love just about any color dress. Royal blue, red, purple, delicate floral prints and of course the “little black dress”..I love ’em all…except orange…I wouldn’t be caught dead in orange! Guess that’s because my ex-wife’s best friend did a solo at church wearing this hideous orange dress…she looked like a grotesque pumpkin!!! I could hardly keep from lmao right in the middle of church!! I also wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of pants…don’t even own any. After being forced to wear the blasted things for over half a century I totally refuse to wear pants!!
Being coordinated is all important..the shoes and bag totally must match!!! Even just a couple months after I began being female full time publicly I always had girls at work say ” Tracie, I can’t believe you haven’t been a woman all your life…your clothes are gorgeous and you are always perfectly coordinated!!” It’s vitally important for me to be as fashion perfect at work as I possibly can as I work for one of the country’s largest banks…even an “evil bill collector” has to look pretty!! It makes my heart leap with joy when some of the young 20 something GGs at work want me to take them shopping. Imagine that..me a 56 year old “grannie trannie” and these young hotties want my fashion advice.
One thing I’ve learned…being a girl is way more expensive than being a guy…but it’s sooo much more fun! Guess I’m kinda high maintaince as I spend about $150.00 a month at the salon for my nails alone. Girls, don’t forget to generously tip your nail girl and hair artist…ya get whatcha pay for!!!
One thing I learned early on. A true trans woman doesn’t have to “pass”. You ARE a woman…what do you have to “pass” as…a man? Ladies, it’s 1% appearance and 99% confidence. If you think of yourself as a trans woman in transition..not really a woman yet..then that’s what others will percieve you as. If you know with all your heart, mind and soul that you ARE a woman..think of yourself as a woman…accept yourself as a woman…then that is what others will percieve.
May your journey be even more blessed than mine…
Tracie

Hello,
I have a question that I’ve been trying to figure out for a little while now… is it better to buy normal clothing from normal stores for women, or to buy cloths from stores specifically geared towards creating a feminine image? I would think that it’s be more natural to buy clothing intended for women to pass as a woman, than to purchase clothing for men designed to look feminine.
Thank you for your answer,
Dawn
I’m such a blowhard, I just LOVE to give advice! So, my advice is to shop everywhere, and get what you like. Try it, if it looks good it is good. You will more and more know what is best for you (with some surprises), and what to go with. Happy Shopping!
Hi Dawn
Personally I find buying clothing made specifically for GGs more appealing. We have to think of our natural body’s first. So some additional items (hip/derriere padding, breast augmentation) must be considered to make the clothing fit. Anyway women’s clothing feels way more special than the other kind.
Much love ❤

I wear black bra 38b, and brown or blue tights I keep it a secrete no one know what I wear. I think I think i got it from Walmart for 12 dollars. Yes it fit,but little big.I have others I wear, but they show. So I don’t wear them as much at all. My goal is going to take longer the I expect.
