When it comes to expressing your gender identity, navigating labels can be tricky. For those identifying as transgender or non-binary, finding the right words is essential.
Obviously, it’s important for people to use language that respects and reflects your identity. Outdated or offensive terms can be hurtful.
However, it’s important to remember that you’re more than just a label!
Ultimately, what matters most is how you personally want to be addressed, regardless of where you fall on the gender spectrum.
So, let’s talk about it!
Do you have a particular term or label that resonates with you – such as crossdresser, transgender woman, non-binary person, or something else?
I’m eager to hear your thoughts, so let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille
Labels suck, but most people have alway labeled others. Some are very offensive. She-male, Tranny, lady-boy are just a few that do offend. Most that use these labels, are ignorant of what is correct.
We in the transgendered must educate, and let them know what is right and what is wrong.
I myself, don’t fit in to any category. I have always known something wasn’t quite right with me in the world, so I have just became myself. Yes I get looks sometimes but what the heck. Look around. Most GG’s don’t care about being feminine any more and those who do, well that’s another subject. I had begged for years to have my needs, wants and desires met, and to absolutely no avail. so I became who I wanted and needed to be. I am happy living as a female now as I don’t have to beg any more.
Hi, Lucille.
I’m a girl into a male body. Ther’s no problem if you appoint me like a woman, for exemple Rafaela. I have a gender disfory classified by F.64.8. I wanna be a woman in all my anatomy and my worry i’ts to start my MtF transition, because my family and my co-workers, nobody knows about my top secret, even though I have to accomplish It else I’ll be crazying! It’s a pain to me.I don’t like labels like “transvestite” or “drag queen” because it’s so much depreciative but “transwoman” or “t-girl” it’s so real! This words means a situation before genitals surgery. I love you so much and I’m grateful you give us, T-girls, your attention and a lot of infomations about feminizations secrets. I wanna be your friend for ever.
Kisses,
Rafaela
If asked I go for the TG label. Although I have always considered myself a woman and have lived as one for over twenty years.
Actually, I like the term transgender. I’m mostly trans-sexual, but transgender seems to hit the right note of ambiguity and inclusiveness. I definitely do not like the term transvestite and, of course, I do not identify as a drag queen, though I think it’s just fine that some people do. I am also not a fan of the terms pre-op, post-op or even non-op because, to me, the essence of who I am is between my ears and not between my legs.
Hi Lucille,
I prefer to go by GEM….Gender Enhanced Male. Since I am not able to be the woman I want to be 24/7, this seems appropiate.
Lucille,
I think of myself as a Tg at home.
I prefer Tgirl or preop transgender. I beleive “transvestite” infers a fetish. My desire to be femme is not a fetish. Merely feeling female is very rewarding and is the better part of my personality.
