When it comes to expressing your gender identity, navigating labels can be tricky. For those identifying as transgender or non-binary, finding the right words is essential.
Obviously, it’s important for people to use language that respects and reflects your identity. Outdated or offensive terms can be hurtful.
However, it’s important to remember that you’re more than just a label!
Ultimately, what matters most is how you personally want to be addressed, regardless of where you fall on the gender spectrum.
So, let’s talk about it!
Do you have a particular term or label that resonates with you – such as crossdresser, transgender woman, non-binary person, or something else?
I’m eager to hear your thoughts, so let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille
I am a woman. I feel that about myself, I know that I am. I suppose to define myself for those who are detail oriented I am a transgender woman. But as I said I am a woman. As for being pre op or post op it is irrelevant. I deal with the world and my life as a female. If others choose to see me as other than I am that is their problem not mine. My sex is not so much between my legs as between my ears. However I choose to define myself is the important thing, what others think or do not think is totally meaningless noise to me. I am quite simply ME.
Hi Lucille – what a great question !!!
For me, I’ve never been to hung up on the the TV,TS labelling debate – I chose Joanna as a label, because I like it and its who I am !!!
If pressed – I like the term transgendered – for me it seems to represent an umbrella term for our community – which I am proud and happy to be part of. Another friend of mine likes to paraphrase the term “GG” but instead of describing herself as a Genetic Girl, she prefers it to mean “Gender Gifted” which is quite cute too…………
Hugs to all
Joanna
It is true – how do you label yourself? I have no idea! Somedays indeed I look in the mirror, naked or dressed as a woman and think “girl”, somedays “man in dress!” lol
I certainly FEEL like a woman and love the idea of living as one. At this point as long as a man sees me and thinks I am female, I’d be happy, but i know it’s MUCH more than that!
I’d love to work as a woman, live as a woman and have someone love and accept me AS a woman fulltime someday.
Love to all on here! Tammi
Call me a “human being” and treat me as such!
Who knows where the desire to dress as a woman comes from, I sure don’t, but I have it. I am very comfortable as a man as am I when dressed as a woman. Really a blessing being able to live in both worlds. I have no desire to change into a woman, but enjoy being able to present myself as one from time to time. Not much into labels, and I very much dislike people who chose to label me as anything other than just a person. I have worn my hair long since I moved away from my parents many years ago and suffered from the label as a hippie, but at that time it was better than a transgendered or freak. So much hate in the world, come on people get past it we are who we are and you are who you are, I am no threat to you, but many people see me as a threat to them. Just wish it were easier to dress as I please and not have to worry about what other people think.

I dont like labels.but i call myself bisexual.I am a closseted cross dresser.inside i feal more fem than male.We must send a clear message to those people out there that put us down that we are human beings and not freakes.we are not here for there amusement.
I consider myself transgender actually. I unfortunately look and sound too manly for my taste and am unable to live fulltime as a woman right now, but I am in the process of moving so that I can live as the woman I feel I am. I tell my friends in my heart and soul and all of me inside is ALL WOMAN!! I WILL have my dream come true and live as the woman I am!! I don’t know if I will ever have surgery or not but I will always see me as a woman. 🙂
