Hair removal can significantly enhance your femininity and attractiveness, especially in the bikini area. After all, who doesn’t want to feel extra pretty in their panties?
In this blog post, I’ll share everything you need to know about bikini hair removal for crossdressers and trans women.
We’ll explore the best hair removal methods, their pros and cons, and important tips you won’t want to miss.
So, let’s get started on achieving a smooth and flawless bikini area!
Shaving
Shaving is a simple and affordable method of removing hair from the bikini area, allowing for convenient at-home hair removal.
Pros:
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Inexpensive compared to other hair removal methods
- Conveniently done in the comfort of your own home
Cons:
- Potential for razor burn, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps
- Hair regrowth can happen quickly and feel coarse or stubbly
- Requires frequent upkeep to maintain smooth skin
Tips:
- Start with exfoliation: Gently exfoliate the bikini area before shaving to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
- Use a sharp razor: Ensure you’re using a clean, sharp razor blade to minimize irritation and achieve a closer shave.
- Shave in the direction of hair growth: Shave in the same direction as hair growth to reduce the likelihood of razor burn and ingrown hairs.
- Moisturize afterward: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer after shaving to soothe and hydrate the skin.
Waxing
Waxing is a popular method for MTF bikini hair removal, offering longer-lasting results compared to shaving. It can be done at home or by a professional.
Pros:
- Results last longer than shaving
- Slower hair regrowth, often resulting in finer hair
- No more shaving nicks or cuts
Cons:
- Can be painful, especially for those with sensitive skin
- Can be expensive, particularly when done at a salon
- Risk of ingrown hairs, especially in the bikini area
Tips:
- Trim hair to a suitable length: Trim bikini hair to about a quarter-inch before waxing for more effective results.
- Test wax temperature: Check the wax temperature on a small area to avoid burns.
- Stretch the skin: Hold the skin taut while applying the wax strip to minimize discomfort and ensure a cleaner removal.
- Apply soothing products: After waxing, apply a soothing gel or aloe vera to calm the skin and reduce redness or inflammation.
Depilatory Creams
Depilatory creams, also known as hair removal creams, dissolve the hair at the skin’s surface using chemicals.
Pros:
- Can be done at home
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Slower hair regrowth compared to shaving
Cons:
- Chemicals in the cream can cause skin irritation
- Results may not last as long as other methods
- Strong odor
Tips:
- Patch test first: Perform a patch test on a small area to check for adverse reactions or allergies before applying the cream to a larger area.
- Follow the instructions: Read and carefully follow the instructions on the depilatory cream packaging for safe and effective use.
- Apply an even layer: Use a spatula or applicator to apply a smooth, even layer of the cream for full coverage.
- Remove with caution: Gently remove the cream at the specified time using a damp cloth or the provided spatula, avoiding rubbing or scraping the skin.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution by targeting and destroying hair follicles using laser technology, resulting in reduced hair growth over time.
Pros:
- Long-lasting results
- Less painful than waxing
- Eliminates ingrown hairs
Cons:
- Can be expensive
- Multiple sessions required for optimal results
- Not effective on all hair types and skin tones (especially light hair and dark skin tones)
Tips:
- Consult a professional: Seek a consultation with a licensed professional to determine if laser hair removal is suitable for you and discuss the specific treatment plan.
- Avoid sun exposure: Minimize sun exposure to the bikini area before and after laser sessions to reduce the risk of skin damage or pigmentation changes.
- Shave before treatment: Shave the bikini area a day or two before your laser session to enable effective targeting of hair follicles without burning surface hair.
- Follow aftercare instructions: Adhere to the recommended aftercare instructions provided by the professional, which may involve avoiding hot baths, exfoliation, or specific skincare products to protect the treated area.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
IPL is similar to laser hair removal, but it uses a different kind of light. Instead of a concentrated laser beam, IPL uses a broader spectrum of light that isn’t as focused.
Because of this, IPL can cover a larger treatment area, but it takes more sessions since the light is less powerful.
Pros:
- Faster than laser hair removal since it covers a larger area
- Good availability of at-home devices
- Usually less painful than laser hair removal
Cons:
- Requires more sessions compared to laser hair removal
- More risk of irritation due to the broader light spectrum used
- Can only be used on lighter skin tones / darker hair tones
Tips:
- Choose the right device: Invest in a high-quality IPL device that is suitable for your skin and hair type. (The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 is popular choice among my blog readers.)
- Prepare your skin: Before using IPL, shave your skin to ensure that the IPL light targets the hair follicles directly.
- Follow the treatment schedule: Consistency is key for effective IPL hair removal, so be sure to follow the treatment schedule provided by the manufacturer.
- Protect your skin: After IPL treatment, your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. Apply sunscreen to the treated areas whenever they are exposed to the sun.

One thing about your site what i am missing comes to thoughton this page.
Decent and safe ways to hide your private parts while still lokking female without a bulge.
On the web you can find some stuff but it is either way too expensive (latex feminime pants from 2nd skin) or way too ugly, (as found elsewhere) or too unnsafe (like taping, superglue, etc.) or not working at all (pushing it inside)
As being hermaphrodite i have a female body, somewhat male face, but below the belt it is a bulged mixture of both. so how to hide that.
And for those Transvestites or Pr-op TG’s the problem is the same.
so could you make a page explaining this the safe and working way?
Robin,
I will tell what I have done to hide the bulge, I hope u all don’t think this is silly, but it looks okay to me and is not remotely painful.
So, what I did was buy a large car-washing sponge (32*17cm) and shaped it so that it slopes at the top (which sits at my naval, shape the bottom part like the centre of a pair of knickers to go between your legs, and then cut out the inside with scissors to fit the bulge inside, with manhood pointing upwards. Then, once in place, dress with knickers over it, then a pair of hose (or tights if, like me, u live in UK), and finally a pair of firm control pants if required.
The result (to me anyway) looks like a small amount of femme middle-aged spread.
Obviously this solution is no good if u like wearing skimpy bikini knickers or if u want to look really slim, but otherwise give it a go girls and let me know what u think.
I find it a million times more comfortable than suggestions on other sites about sandwiching it in between your legs/buttocks, often with assorted accessories, which makes even sitting uncomfortable and can even lead to medical emergencies. With my solution, I find no discomfort, even when sitting cross-legged.
Hope this idea helps someone and does not sound ridiculous.
Andrea
And for the hair part; I find laser best. i day pain for once a 6 to 10 months and never complaining about any hair problem again. the problem is finding a laser aestetic to be willing to do this. but once found you;ll be a winner.
any one tried the NO .NO hair remover they show on TV. ?? says no pain ?
I tried the NO-NO and found that it worked ok-to-well on the flatter parts of the body. The roller at the end had to be moving for it to have power to the head [a nichrome wire heater]. When it rolls, it extends the element out to the edge of the device and does its job. I had a lot of trouble on areas that weren’t so flat. Despite their claim, all I got was a bunch of head chattering in and out when I tried to do things like my shins or parts of my arms/elbows…couldn’t keep the roller moving steady and the heater just kept moving in and out of the unit. The problem in the ‘drive’ for the roller is a small o-ring on one end. If it doesn’t turn there is no action. Also, the send a couple very fine ‘polisher’ that you use after the treatment. I ended up sending mine back because I wasn’t able to use it for what I wanted….full body hair removal.
I shave my “area” all the time. I have to because i have very dark hair. Well im very scared to wear underwear or my bikini around people and my husband also!!! Its horrible i cant get rid of this stubble it looks really trashy and well if i shave i get razor burn so bad it becomes like blisters amd they are sore.. so i have been just shaving lightly and its still not working… help me!!!

I would have to say that I am not a tranny at all. I still have my masculine features and really don’t want to lose them. I do have to say that shaving my pubes, scrotum and other areas of my body do put a femine touch there. At the end of a long hard day I can come home to relax knowing that my smoothness and femine side cant take over. Oh and I do use the trimmer showen on your page.
Tried laser removal on my face but hair was too light so I switched to electrolysis. It was expensive and took a while but I love being able to put on makeup without having to worry about beard cover.
As for my body I tried an epilater but shrieked with pain then I went the shaving route but was always uncomfortable with the nicks and stubble and how often I had to repeat the process. From there I switched to nair and while I loved the results on my legs and chest I also burnt the hell out of the boys. Another downside to shaving and nair was that I could never really get my backside right.
Finally got control of the situation when I broke down put aside my embarrasment and opted to get professionally waxed. Though it was more expensive then shaving and nair it was also decidely more effective. The salon I choose did my entire body with the exception of my face, head and they didn’t do brazillians. I continued to have this area for a while until one day I was vacationing in Montreal and saw an ad for male brazillians. Later that week I took my boys out to be waxed. It was a lot less painful then I had anticipated and I loved the way they felt and looked afterwards. As a matter of fact in general I don’t find waxing all that painful and it is quite a social experience. Since that trip to Montreal I have found a local salon run by a couple of beatuiful thai womone that does Brazillians and have since started doing most of my waxing done there.
Born as male but developed extra large breasts with perky nipples. I am wearing 42 DD bra to hold my breasts from bouncing and sagging. I wax my feet also. My appearance almst look like a lady becase of my ample breast size and faces shape. Over and above I wore tight and see through cloths. My bra is mostly visible through the cloth expecially the perky nipple.
42DD??? good grief, seriously, how did you manage that???
how did you grow your breasts?i wanna grow mine but i dont know how. will you please give me some advise?
Have used an epilator for over 20 years now and very little hair regrows anynore. Am totallt hairless on underarms, legs, chest and pubic area. It was paimfull at first but bearable. If you really want to be hairless though it is worth it. I love it. Nothing worse than a hairy girl in panties and a bra.
