When presenting yourself as a woman, there are some definite dos and don’ts to follow.
However, this doesn’t mean you need to be a slave to the “rules!” Many so-called rules are outdated or just plain wrong – especially when it comes to fashion and style.
Are you following these 5 male to female fashion rules? If so, it might be time to break them!
Rule #1: Dress As Feminine As Possible
Nobody pulls off the feminine look quite like transgender celeb, Gigi Gorgeous. But that doesn’t mean everybody needs to dress this way! The beauty of fashion is that you can express yourself however you want.
Whether your style is tomboyish, androgynous, or ultra feminine, anything goes – so enjoy your individuality and dress however the heck you want.
Rule #2: Don’t Go Without Shapewear
Breast forms, a corset, gaff, and hip pads can transform the most masculine body into an hourglass. When you want to feel like a bombshell, shapewear is a girl’s best friend!
However, ignore rules that says you must don all these contraptions every time you step out en femme. Being comfortable in your clothes is a better rule to follow, so wear the pieces that make you feel good and forget the rest.
Rule #3: Always Wear High Heels
While high heels are undoubtedly sexy and feminine, there’s no rule that says you must wear them all the time. Flats can be equally alluring if you want to be comfy, or if you’re on the tall side and don’t want to accentuate your height.
Love the look of heels but don’t want to go all out? A kitten heel (1″-2″ tall) looks elegant and can help feminize your walk – without the pain of stilettos.
Rule #4: Dress Like The Women In Your Area
I often talk about how helpful it is to observe cisgender (genetic) women. If your goal is to blend in, it’s a good idea to adhere to the style norms in your area.
However, in case you haven’t noticed, many women dress sloppily or put little effort into their appearances. If that’s not your style, you do NOT have to follow in their footsteps. Look as fabulous as you want… and maybe they will start to follow your lead!
Rule #5: You Must Always Match
There are so many choices in women’s clothing that putting outfits together can be daunting. While you should always look coordinated, forget about old fashioned rules that say you must match from head to toe. Not only is this boring, it tends to look costumey and dated.

very good summary, and I fully agree. I do it as advised, I dress always as I enjoy, but never extrem. Dressing enfemme is for us something we need, something we would like to enjoy, and not for other should think we are CIS. All the best Wilhelmina
I do wear shape-wear out most days. I am used to the feeling of controlling undergarments. It reminds me of who I am at the moment. It also makes my clothes fit better so I am less self conscious. I prefer dresses with kitten heels, but I also have quite a few jeans and tops. I guess it depends on how I feel that day. I believe one of the most important things is feeling comfortable as a woman rather than just comfortable.
I’ve tried so many looks and styles but as a rule I try to blend in and dress appropriately for the day. No need for a dress if your going to the supermarket!
Great advice and article, I consider my self a classy woman and I love wearing dresses a lot and got used to wearing flats they are very comfortable and feminine.
Much love! joanna xoxo
You always look so stylish. I get so jealous when I see your pics.
I not to long ago bought my first pair of flats, they’re just so comfortable. I now have several pairs, and keep one pair in my vehicle to wear back and forth to work. Unlike you I can’t be enfem as much as I’d like, but I do get to once a day for about an hour.
Anyway I still love my heels, and wear them as often as I can.
Sorry to go on about it but I don’t get on the computer often, and when I do I can’t help it.

Thank you for you comment ! Yes flats are very comfortable and feminine ,like you I love my heels too, but in Manhattan I walk a lot so I prefer use flats
Out and about with some pregnant girls. We got a great sale on summer maternity clothes.I can’t wait to wear them for the summer.
This is one of my favorite tops. Wish I was more passible so I could go out in it!
That top is to die for hon.
If you watch GG’s (carefully, you don’t want to seem like you’re being pervy). You’ll see lots of women who could pass as men, so as long as you carry yourself as a woman and display your confidence, very few if anyone will see you as a woman. And quite honestly who careswhat others think, be yourself.

You look great! I go out regularly looking worse than this. Hold your head high and no-one will question you.
Going out by myself is always interesting, once noticed to see them decide on “F” or “M” not wearing makeup or female clothing,
which fits me right into to days article.
Thanks Lucille , Love Hally
This is my favourite dress, I love wearing dresses of all types but am slowly getting to grips with what works and what doesn’t with the help of my soulmate partner. I struggle a bit with casual but am getting there slowly and building my wardrobe. A shop owner from the next town actually closed her shop for the afternoon so I could go in and try different clothes on, get tips and advice on makeup and accessories and then took lots of photos so I could choose the looks that worked for me. It was a great move for her as well as me as I bought lots of outfits but I will remember the day for the rest of my life, it was like a fairy tale for me xx
Such a lovely dress. Having someone to share your passions with is such a great thing. And to have a woman shop owner give youthat much personal service, well I would be in Heaven.
It’s nice to hear us gurls do have some people out there who support us.
