Looking your best as a woman takes ongoing effort. But if you’re a crossdresser or transgender woman who wants to look better NOW, you are in the right place.
The truth is, sometimes little tweaks can make the biggest difference in your male to female transformation.
In this post, I share 8 simple yet effective tips to instantly boost your feminine allure, so you can look and feel your best – fast!
1. Whiten Your Eyes
You probably don’t think much about the whites of your eyes, but bright white eyes are an important symbol of health and beauty.
The best way to combat dull or bloodshot eyes is to eat well, get enough sleep, and take breaks from your phone or computer screen.
But for a quick fix, try redness reducing drops. LUMIFY Redness Reliever Eye Drops are formulated to be safer and more effective than traditional redness reducing eye drops, without the “rebound redness” effect.
2. Lengthen Your Lashes
Lush, long lashes are a beauty must – and mascara is a girl’s best friend.
Since lashes are so important, I’m also going to share a longer-term strategy: Use an eyelash growth serum to help your lashes grow fuller and thicker. Here are some recommendations:
As an added bonus, treating your lashes is a great way to pamper your feminine self – even in male mode.
3. Master The Proper Leg Positions
You already know that a lady keeps her legs together, but did you know there’s a right and wrong way to cross your legs?
Crossing your legs at the knees is not only bad for circulation, it’s considered a don’t among upper class women.
The proper leg positions to master are known as the Duchess Slant and the Cambridge Cross:
- Duchess Slant – Knees and heels together and off to the side
- Cambridge Cross – Legs crossed at the ankles
4. Choose The Right Lip Color
The right lip color will immediately brighten your face. But how do you know which shade is best? A simple trick is to consider your eye color:
- Green or hazel eyes – Try red tones
- Blue eyes – Try coral tones
- Brown eyes – Try pink tones
Since it’s frustrating to spend money on a lipstick that doesn’t suit you, I also recommend investing in a lip color palette like the Maybelline Lip Color Palette. This gives you endless options to experiment and mix your own custom colors.
5. Defrizz Your Hair
Smooth, shiny hair (as seen on trans actress Laverne Cox above) makes you look pretty and polished. Frizzy hair, on the other hand, can make you look sloppy.
To control frizz and maintain shine, use a smoothing spray such as Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine for natural hair or HD Smooth Detangler by Jon Renau for wigs and synthetic hair.
6. Choose The Right Neckline
The décolleté is one of the most attractive parts of a woman’s body. Enhance your feminine appeal by showing off your neck and chest with a scoop or v-neck top.
It doesn’t even have to be particularly low cut to have a flattering effect. As an added bonus, deeper neckline styles help slenderize a broad torso.
7. Highlight Your Complexion
There’s nothing sexier than a dewy, youthful complexion. Fortunately, you can fake glowing skin by using highlighter makeup to brighten and highlight your face.
The video below gives a quick overview on the different types of highlighters (liquid, cream, or powder) and how to apply them.
8. Accentuate Your Waist
The more you can emulate a woman’s waist-to-hip ratio, the more feminine you will look.
Create the illusion of curves – instantly – with shapewear, peplum tops, or skirts and dresses that flare out at the hips. Check out my article on How to Create an Hourglass Figure to learn more.
In conclusion
While looking your best requires ongoing effort, these quick fixes can instantly take your male to female transformation to the next level.

Once again you provide classy “lady-like” advice that is so very helpful. I love the “Duchess Slant and the Cambridge Cross” leg position. When I go out wearing a dress or shirts, leg position is so critical. All the tips are wonderful. Thanks again

Dear Lucille,
I voted ” Highlight my complexion”, but all your suggestions were right on. Another one I used, although not very instant, was electrolysis. It was costly, painful and took about 15 months. But it was well worth it. I started it about 12 years ago and have not shaved my face for the last 10 years. No longer any beard shadow. I go out with only blush, mascara, eye shadow and lipstick. The main advantage is being able to be out as long as I have to with no beard.
Thank you for all you do for us girls. Susan
I really am scared of going and adopting being a cross dresser in our environment . Although I really cross dressed a lot some times in hidden.I do want to have an adoptation of the same now, with the right profession in this regard please.
sohi. we all have our starting points of being scared first time but if you’ll do it little by little your courage will build up and be more confident with what your wearing and your face made up n way u appear just keep practicing you’re skills along with your walk in certain kinds of shoes or boots plus practice your femme voice so that when get ready make your move or outward jounery you’ll be ready n prepared
Thank you for the tips. I really need all the help I can get. The waist part reminds me that, no matter how much I like pencil skirts, they make my relative lack of hips look WAY too hopeless. Fortunately, more flaring skirts do the job. Whew! I mentioned before, that when I am starting to get sloppy about keeping my knees together, I sometimes go out without panties. That REALLY keeps you focused. Don’t want to go forgetting about it, though. Or fall awkwardly.
Once, when I was featured in a blog about a normally non-feminine activity, there were interesting responses, most about non feminine issues. But one did say he thought my lipstick was the wrong color. See, we are always under scrutiny, so it’s nice to be usually just perfect. (har, har…)
