Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

While Age is just a number, (I’m 60 this year) a lot does matter in how you took care of yourself before you got to this point in your Life where you want to Transition. The last few years since deciding to make this major change in my Life, I eat more healthy, exercise more and basically take better care of myself to look better in Girl Clothes and look more passable Public.
Taking care of you Face is something you need to do at any age, I discovered Collagen supplements a 10 years ago, and have taken and noticed very positive results….which helps with feeling more confident in Public.
While you spent the last 60+ years in Guy Mode,….most 60 yr old Biological Woman have been taken care of themselves their whole Life…..probably why Woman live longer than Men.
It is never too Late to start living Healthy and Living Female
Gia you look great for 60,God Bless you girl.❤
You are never too old. What does get old is living with fear, keeping secrets, denial and self imposed seclusion. I could list a whole lot more….but what fun is that?
Absolutely right Morgan. God Bless.
Around 1990 I finally accepted that I am a woman after nearly 40 years of denying, suppressing and fighting against my femininity. it took another 10 years of therapy and occasional exploration before I felt comfortable enough to allow myself to actually be that woman. but now i am proud to state that I am a beautiful 42 yr old woman. (I’m a girl, I can be any age I want to be amiright).
I’m 44 I just started my transion almost a year ago (2 mo shy) I WISH I could have started ALOT sooner, but I guess better late than never…. age just a number? Maybe to some, but the older you are the harder it IS to transion. If you are Transgender. As for cross dressing…. idk probably dosen’t matter.
I have always been a non-binary person but I always dressed as a male till I was in my early 40 and I ran for mayor of my home town when I decided to live full time as a woman. Even know I didn’t win the race for mayor I have lived my life as my real self. It’s never to late
Gosh, what perfect timing! I had my picture taken today, for a driver;s license with the gender designation “female”. Next step is to petition for an official name change to Laura. I was born in New York State, so once I’m officially Laura Bushey, I can petition to have my birth certificate show my name and gender. Fortunately for me both New York and Washington make this process much easier than elsewhere.
I’m 73, so the obvious answer to the question as to whether one can be too old to transition is a resounding no!
Nope. You are never too old. Hormones don’t work as well on older folks, but we all know our bodies are not entirely what we ARE.
I was clueless about my gender for decades, finally saw the light as a senior. I thought that was unusual, but found it was rather common after all. Making the change was the best thing I ever did for myself, out of many fantastically good other things.
Another take on “Age is just a number”, is “Age is mandatory; maturity is optional”
I decided to make the change to female in 1995 and made a plan. I started living as a female full time in 2007. I jumped through the hoops to get my driver’s license and passport to say female, in 2010. I started full feminization surgeries in 2019, I have now completed all surgeries. I am 74. My photo is current. My novel’s “Identity” is about the trans journey, “Angel the Assassin” Startes when Lisa is a young boy, goes through her transition from grade school through high school, including all the abuse. She is recruited by the CIA to do Assassinations around the world. She falls in love with two women on two continents. My novels are everywhere in Audable, e books, paper and hard back, amazon, ITones, etc, in 50 countries. Also, on my web site janesadventuresinstoryland.com Most of us started crossdressing at a young age, a few of us went out in public, even fewer lived as a female, and a small fraction took the jump to surgeries. I tell people who I council, you can go as far as you want, take as much time as you need, you can always stop, or turn back, until you take the surgical jump. This is a wonderful site and Loucille does a great job, a job I have not seen anyone else take on. she is my queen.
