Your name is a powerful part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a trans woman or crossdresser, you have the unique opportunity to choose a name that reflects who you truly are.

My boy’s name is Francis. Over the years, I use to receive mail addressed to me as Mr , Mrs, Miss or Ms as there are people out there who can’t tell the difference between Francis (male) or Frances (female). I settled on Francesca as it had a distinctive ring about it!! Anyway, I have never really been fond of Frances, which would have been the more obvious choice -can’t really give a reason why (!)
I chose the name Tammy Diane because my late mother used to tell me that if I would have been born a female that was what they had planned to name me!
For me it was very easy to pick out my feminine name. My name was Donald and I like liked the name donna. She was a friend and since I always wanted to be a girl from a young age so I combined Donna and girl to be donnagirl. It always maked me feel so girly when I use it.
It was at my wife’s 40th birthday and it was fancy dress.
It was my first time out in puplic as female.
We were in the taxi and it was the son of my wife’s best friend who came up with my name. He was about 4/5 years old. He called me Danielle (my real name is Darren)
It has stuck and I like it.
The was an older girl on my bus and her name was Katrina and I love to hear her name out loud. When I started to go out in public I chose that name and had loved it ever since.
When I first realized I was gender queer, I didn’t take a female name for a long time. But. later, I felt I needed one. I originally took the name Diane. I chose it because my male name is David and it was an easy transition. But eventually I realized I could have any name I wanted, and while Diane is a nice enough name, I wanted something more unique. I played with many different ideas, and finally settled on Roxana, probably partially because of the Police song (slight variation) but mostly I just liked the way it sounds and I felt it fit me.
When I came out to my then future wife in 1980 she asked what the name was for my alter-ego. I didn’t have one so we started trying on names. When she called me Evelyn it just felt right. I guess that makes my name 45 years old this year.
My name as a woman is Alise. I have chosen it for several years and I do not want to change it for any other. This name interestingly resonates with my real name and surname. It is also the name of my former girlfriend, whom I still love in my heart. Unfortunately, my relationship with her broke up and can no longer be restored, because she is already happily married to another man. However, it was her name that I adopted as my own, because I gradually want to become a woman.
