Your name is a powerful part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a trans woman or crossdresser, you have the unique opportunity to choose a name that reflects who you truly are.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear yours!

I chose Deborah for (basically) 5 reasons. 1. I like the name. 2. Deborah is a completely feminine name. It is not the feminine version of ay male name I know of nor do I know of any male name that shares the diminutive Debbie. 3. Deborah is a strong name. In the bible Deborah was one of the few women who could actually order men around. 4. One of my favorite singers is Deborah Harry, a beautiful and sensual woman. and 5. Prior to my transition, I was unaware of my own strength, beauty and sensuality. In fact I believed that I had none of those traits.. I felt, by using Deborah, I could borrow some of the biblical Deborah’s strength and some of Ms. Harry’s beauty and sensuality. Of course since I transitioned I did discover my own strength, beauty and sensuality, and had no need to borrow any, but I have made Deborah my name, one that fits me much better then my male name ever did.
I chose myself from my birth name. Robert was what I’ve been called forever changed it back to Bobbie from childhood, added the ie . I love it now.
Okay here goes this could be long. The first name came to me on thinking about women that I had dated over the years. Not a very long list, and Karen was I think my third one that had dated more than once. It was on and off for a couple years. I then found out that she was seeing other guys. I was her go to guy in between them. So end of that relationship. And I thought what a kick it would be if I meet when I was out dressed. The last name come from when I was in the army and being from Idaho I got the nick name of Spud. So I just added the et making it more girly. So there you have it.
Karen Spudet
