Your name plays a big part in shaping your feminine identity.
Some names sound sweet and innocent, some are classic and regal, while others exude an exotic and mysterious vibe.
As a crossdresser or trans woman, you have the unique opportunity of choosing your own female name.
If you’re like most of my readers, there’s a story behind your chosen feminine name.
So, in this blog post, I’d love to hear about the special meaning behind your name.
Please leave a comment below, sharing your feminine name and the story of how and why you chose it for yourself.
I’m excited to hear the story!

So my mom’s name is Nalla. She gave me the birth Gabriel Allan, which if you notice makes my middle name her name backwards. I always felt honored by this. I have never really had a fondness for the names Gabby or Gabrielle. So when I started my transition I did not want to change my name significantly and offend my mom. I decided to go with Gabrielle Allana as my full name but to go by Ally. Over the past 8 years I have really grown into the name Ally and love that it always makes me think of my mom. 😀
Hugz,

My name is Karen Audrey Roberts. My name came from the initials (K.A.R.) of my male name. Audrey is from an aunt who was stillborn.
When I began cross-dressing many years ago, I wanted to have a very feminine sounding name. At first, while I was dressing only at home, I called myself Christine and by the time I started going out, I was Stephanie. I stopped dressing for awhile but when my feminine side re-surfaced, I had become Simone. When I am dressed up, I feel liberated from my daily male life – this is such an exhilirating and joyful experience. To me, the name Simone has a very soft and maidenlike sound to it which is how I feel when I am all dolled up and wearing a pretty dress and high heels!
I am not sure why Kathy, but I had been dressing about 6 weeks and had been having a terrible time with my make-up, always way too much eyeliner, rouge, wild colored eyeshadow, etc, so one night I decided to just go light with the make-up and try to keep a more natural look. So that is what I did, a little eyeshadow, some mascara, touch of pencil liner and a soft pink lipstick, put on my favorite wig, blouse, skirt, stockings and heels and when I looked in the mirror I was so pleasantly surprised I whispered “well hello Kathy” to myself and that is who I have been since–still using minimal make-up as well!!
Xlnt choice Diana suits you. Beautiful, strong, feminine, amazon.
Love, I am….Karen
So, it is an unusual name (in the US) but it is part of my heritage. See, I am of germanic / scandinavian ancestry with just a bit of French Canadian thrown in for good measure 😉 I loved the name, and when I did a search for the meanings they fit me perfectly. As with a given name (nope, not gonna say what that was :)) I have kind of just grown into the new name, and it is ME!
My initils were DB and an old friend called me DB, so I just changed that to Debbie.
As with Diana Lee, I chose Diana for Diana Prince / Princess Diana AKA Wonder Woman (Being a comics fan). I chose the name as a reminder of how I should be and what I should live up to. The second half my full name is derived from gorgeous Agent Scully’s real life counter part, Gillian Anderson (as I dress as a red head). So it’s Diana Anderson.
