Your name is an important part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a crossdresser or trans woman, you have the unique privilege of choosing your own female name—a name that truly reflects who you are.
For many of you, there’s a special story behind your chosen name.
So, I’d love to know: What’s the meaning behind your feminine name?
Share your name and the story of how you chose it in the comments below.
I can’t wait to hear your story!
Love,
Lucille
Hi Lucille,
Yes sweetie, as transgendered women we are very fortunate to be able to choose our name and how we’d like to present ourselves in public.
Some people choose silly names, some people choose sexual names, some people choose silly sexual names, etc. Any transgendered woman who is serious about assimilating into society as a woman typically will choose a name that can actually be acceptable to the general public.
My name means a lot to me and definitely has special meaning. I’m a music and media NUT, and I’ve always followed Madonna’s career since day one. My name came quite easily to me. When I was at the point of creation it just seemed to be “me” and very natural…
Madonna’s close circle of friends (reference the documentary “Truth or Dare”) call her “Madge” or “Maddy”, so the first part of my name is in homage to Madonna. The “Mad” in my name is equal to Madonna or Maddy.
Another love of mine, and had I been born during her time I would have been such a fan, is Marilyn Monroe. I’ve always respected and admired her for being so feminine and girly, yet standing-up for herself with the studio machine. She wasn’t as dumb-blonde as people made her out to be….
So the second half of my first name is “ilyn” in homage to Mar”ilyn” Monroe. Mad + ilyn = Madilyn.
My last name is pretty easy to understand. As a vocal music major in school and a huge music fanatic, I have always loved and adored Mariah Carey’s voice (and feminine girly presentation), so Madilyn Carey I have become and I owe it to three very special and talented ICONS who have, in their own way, changed-the-World…maybe their inspiration will propel me to do great things in life as well.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my story, it doesn’t really come-up that much. Take care, stay sweet, and always stay true to yourself…tootles…
Kisses,
Maddy
I choose my name Sissy Hailey, because I am a sissy girl. Hailey is as much as a girl name as it gets. My ex-Mistress have loved that name. We have even been thinking about getting me a sissy tattoo. I could have just choose Hailey, but Sissy Hailey is a much better name. It makes me feel girly, makes me feel like such a sissy. i am proud to be a sissy slave. I am going to make a Mistress very happy someday…
Hey Lucille – it is indeed a luxury…
in my case it’s Niki from la femme Nikita (the film not the crappy tv series) and Flux from Aeon Flux… also flux meaning change so doubly appropriate..

Hi I selected my feminine name from 4 letters of my last name MacDONAld and from the red haired girl from my home province in Canada ANNE of green Gables
I’m a huge fan of “Anne of the Green Gables” 🙂 I’m surprised to see that so many crossdressers and transgendered people have an awesome education… we’re certainly special in more than one way 🙂
For a long time I went by Rhonda which seemed the best feminine version of Ronald. Then once the time was getting closer, I decided that I really wanted something that would fit better and still help others if they knew me from my past, so I went with Veronica. That way I can still have a feminine name and others can call me Ronni (as in Ron… Nee for those that forget) and it is good too!
It also went much better with my middle name (Jean) which was my dear departed wife’s first name.
I always loved the name Amber. My real names Andrew, n Amber just fits.
