I got my name from a halloween excursion. I hired someone to do makeup and hair. She asked me what name I was gonna use. I said my name goes both ways. She asked if i cared if people reconginize me, I then thought about that and decided not necessarly. She then called me erika which worked out well and I use the last name borders because I feel like I will have to border both male and female life. I respect people for their beleifs so I don’t put it in front of others. I just do it on my own time in my own way. The bad part is Erika is now her own personality. Not scared of anyone, gets what she wants, and leaves me with the bill. hahah Ps still friends with that hairdresser
Erika

Well when it came to choosing my name I looked around at the girls I knew. One Called Melanie was the type of woman I would like to become, as she was feminine and sexy.
i tried it for a week and low and behold It fitted to my personality and has been my name ever since and it seems that I have had it all my life.
when people call my Melanie I feel great, it has also gone along way in helping me to become who I am today, a confident woman , as the hormones have changed my body .
Hello world here comes Melanie

Juliet:
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.” Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)
I could think of a few things to name a rose that would bring “sweet” to mind. I was aware that very few people actually name themselves. So, I told this to the baristas that I shared my true self with. They asked me if I had chosen a name. I had not, and asked them if they would like to choose one for me. After two weeks, these charming women still did not have a name for which they thought fit me. One of them asked if I had thought of a name to call myself. I cannot say why I choose the name Melissa, but the name certainly fits like I’ve had it all my life.
There are criteria that I have choosing names, and this goes for naming my children too. These are steadfast rules. My ex wanted to name my son after a saint in the church. Her choice was Basil. I was to supply a name that represented some of my ancestry. Leif, as in Leif Ericson from the band Rush, was the one I thought would fit nicely. It was when we said the two names together that I knew my son would not be name Basil Leif. And, here are some of the other rules I went by choosing the names of my children and myself.
1. Not a name that can easily be made fun of.
2. Nothing that mocks or makes fun of a previous name or
family member.
3. No famous names of an infamous past.
4. I try to stay away from names of co-workers.
I hope this helps,
Meliss@
