For me it was natural and easy to join my first name and middle initial and Phillipa was born, or Pipa for short, or as a friend calls me Pip. I did ask my very understanding mother what I would have been name if was GG but I did not take that on – Sheila.
I don’t really picked up my name… Just when I was a child (about 4 or 5) I knew, that something is wrong with me and I refused to use my given name and I knew it should be different. The name Alexandra just appeared in my mind and that’s all. I am 30 now and I still love that name and I feel it is really mine.

So thats my story
I know it’s too late for the contest, but I wanted to share my story with you.
First of all, I always loved the female names finishing with a ‘Y’.
Also my first girlfriend’s name was Emilie and I really discovered love with her. Then she died in a car crash when we were 16 and I guess I choose my name like hers so it’s a way for me to never forget her!
I choose the name Yuna cause of two reasons.
One it’s Japanese and I always loved and enjoyed the Japanese couture and fashion.
Two cause it translates to “bound flower” as I was never allowed to flourish into the beautiful flower that I wanted to be.
Sorry I’m late in checking my email
