Do you want to look younger, prettier, and more feminine? If so, try changing your hairstyle! There’s no easier way to improve your appearance.
What are the best male to female haircuts and styles?
I’m glad you asked!
The most flattering and feminizing hairstyles are ones that help soften strong facial features (like a prominent nose or jaw) while making your eyes and lips pop!
Read on to discover the top 6 MTF transgender hairstyles. Note that these style tips work for both wigs and natural hair.
1. Side Swept Bangs
Bangs are a great option since they draw attention to your eyes while hiding a prominent brow ridge. Bangs also make you look cute and youthful!
Straight bangs can highlight angular facial features, so go for soft, side swept bangs instead.
2. Layers
Layered hairstyles tend to be much more flattering than hair that’s all one length. Face framing layers soften your features and add texture and volume to your hair.
3. Soft Waves
Soft waves are super sexy and feminine. Waves also add volume to your hair, making thin hair appear fuller.
Most trans women and crossdressers look great with full, wavy hair that balances out stronger facial features and a larger body frame.
4. Shoulder Length Hair
Shoulder length hair is the best option for most women, including transgender women. Hair that’s too short can look masculine, while hair that’s too long can drag down your face after a certain age.
Shoulder length hair is very feminine and flattering. Additionally, it helps conceal a stronger jaw or thicker neck (if these are issues for you).
5. Side Parts
Middle parts can be tricky since they make your face look longer and highlight your nose and chin. Side parts are more flattering and can be worn by anybody with any face shape.
6. Highlights
Finally, don’t forget about color! Highlights brighten your face and look softer than a single block of color. Generally speaking, your highlights should be two shades lighter than your base color for the most natural look.
Make everyday a good hair day!
Nothing can boost your appearance like a fabulous hairstyle. As you can see from the tips above, the key is to think SOFT – soft cuts, soft texture, and soft color – to balance and feminize your features.
Hair is an important topic, so I’d love to hear from you!

She is not alone. For some of us women of color our hair may never grow that long I don’t think mine ever will. Besides a complimentary wig large ear rings, like hoops, can draw attention from the face.
My favourite wig at the moment…
Was wondering what to do when you have ugg male pattern balding. I do not wear a wig and would like to figure something out
I will be 76 in about three weeks and my own hair lays just below the shoulders. It is silver in color. I go to my hairdresser every six weeks and get a perm every other visit. I use to get a tight perm to have curly hair but last time I wanted a change so we went with larger curlers for wavy rather than curly. I had that other person’s beard removed but still go in for touch up. I pamper myself with a monthly massage. Back when I was that other person I was on three meds for high blood pressure. When I decided to be the person that I am, I have since been taken off all three meds. And my blood is perfect. Be yourself ladies and treat yourself to some pampering. You will be a better and healthier person.
I also get my nails done every two weeks. My nails are thin and break easily so I have dip color that dries so hard I could scratch through an elephant’s hide.
Hey everybody – I had hair plugs 14 months ago so I am finally allowing my hair to grow out. My hair is still somewhat thin with a high forehead so I am not quite there – I feel so much better though – I have been on hot for 18 months and the hair really helps with my confidence. At some point I will have FFS which will pull my hairline down and help with “The Look”. Every little bit helps and remember to be confident. IN the end you only have yourself and that is the most important. Good Days and bad days always occur. Remember they did before and they always will. Finally, without bad days or events you can never truly enjoy or realize the good. y best wishes t all and that life continues in the direction you ae heading. We are all in this together – Inner beauty / personality is not a choice it is who we all are.
More hair on the top, and a lower hair line, (minoxidil) , and less on the face, burn the whiskers (showliss). Even with Frizz, I think it’s best to make it work with what I’ve got. I have, although, loved wearing wigs for years, basically blonde ones because I’m not.
I enjoy wearing my wig length at my shoulders and I have now moved toward the grey tones mixed in with a lighter soft brown since the time clock has moved almost to 72 next month. The soft waves around my neck and shoulders has always softened my facial features and makes me feel extra feminine all the time.
I wear a wig, not a very expensive one as I could not afford it at the time. I like it though. It is auburn, shoulder length, and I brush the bangs straight down, I should brush them to the side a little I think.
