Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!

I try to blend as much as possible, I must be good at it because when out and about I find myself in impromptu conversations with women about things that men would never be interested in.The term MA’AM is now an everyday thing.
Allisa….beautiful, just beautiful. I think people appreciate women like us that are friendly, engaging and self-confident. Keep on keepin’ on Lady!
What if I just go out in the world and live my life in the proper outfit feeling confy and happy?
When I go out which is most days I am dressed appropriately.Where ever I go I am always dressed as these are my only clothes now; no more men’s clothes got rid of them.I do pass very well for my age bracket. I will say that I feel very bad for those who can not pass no matter how much they try. My name is changing here very soon as I am waiting on the dead FBI to send me my information. I am living as a lady 24/7/365. I am now much more happier living this way and I do hope that many of your reader can also some day.
I can’t seem to post my image … any idea why?
the several times I went out in public has been with my wife and our lady friend I like to blend in with the other girls. I have never been questioned about my gender at restaurants theaters or anywere else we go. I by myself would most likely by to shy to try it. oh well maby one day
I like to blend by standing out as a well put together lady. Not sure if it makes sense but the closer I am to passing the more I stand out
I always try to blend in but then I end up as the woman who stands out. I don’t pass all the time (used to be easier when I was in my twenties.)
XOXO, Eva
I always think I should blend in but then blending in seems so boring. I always end up with a style that makes me stand out (even though the picture I attached is from a night out in a club so I guess standing out was the goal there.)
