It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
It started when I was still very young, around 7 and up,I started wearing my moms clothes and Lingerie also her shoes and she encouraged me in this. She wanted me to get my Ears done for earrings and grow my Hair so she can braid it.She was the one who gave me my femmie name and it really suits me too.And yes, I am looking good in Stockings…
I am a C.P.A. specializing in income tax preparation. As April was already such a big part of my life I chose April for my feminine name.
I have had various female names during the course of my life and they all start with the same first letter and that is ‘J’.
The reason is my male name that I was born with, starts with a J. My first female name was Joanie and then Janet and followed by other names before finally selecting Julie which is what I use now. The names in between that I have used are; Janice, Jan, Joanne and Joyce. I have been Julie for around 20 years now with Joyce being the second longest.
I used whatever names that appealed to me the most at the time and what I pictured in my mind to be a sexy woman. I do have credit cards and my house utilities under the name of Julie. I have recently got an official legal Gender X ID for transgender or transsexual, a Nevada drivers license that by putting the X as where as my sex goes. The only thing is that I still have to use my male birth name on it unless I want to have my name changed on my birth certificate. But when I changed to the transgender ID the DMV did take another facial picture and now I have the face of a woman on my ID. I live as a woman and pass as a woman in everyday life so the morning that I went down to have my ID changed (or I could say corrected) I went as a woman. Now my facial picture has my face with my makeup on, large gold hoop earrings and a feminine hairstyle; the face of a woman.
My wife chose a name Monica for me. I was named after her favourite Monica Belucci:)
my official first name on my identity card now is Sophia.
I chose this name because it goes with my style, the color and the texture of my hair and my face.
I have an Italian appearance; and the name Sophia is fine with me.
I almost picked Sophia! A lovely name.
Three names I was considering were Mary, Catherine, and Elizabeth but wasn’t quite really “feeling” it. Then I suddenly and vividly remembered this girl I saw in elementary school in Key West were I was born and raised. Cuban girl taller then me, jet black hair done up in ringlets and curls, big brown eyes wearing a long frilly dress with ribbons and bows. I felt I was seeing a true Spanish princess for the first time. I walked over to her and dared speak. “My name is Billy what’s yours?” She looked down at me like I was a bug and said, “My NAME is Muddy Elaina”, I thought Muddy was a strange name but now I realized because of her accent her name was Maria. Just thinking the name gave me goosebumps, so now “My NAME is Maria Andres”
I chose Ambrosia because I wanted a unique name and I am really into history and mythology Ambrosia is the nectar of the Gods
I am using the english translation of my Native American name of Sha-way oha Keyway which roughly translates into Raven Looksfarr
