It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
When I was a male, I sometime was excited and spoke to my wife in a high pitched voice and she would say “Ok regina” I grewup with a girl named Regina Sharon and she went by her middle name and I like the name so I named myself Regina Sharon and go by my middle name. I think it sound more feminine and the first two letters are in “she”
I went thru 3 names B4 settling on Roxanne. IT’S somewhat aristocratic, uncommon; bespeaks of women of my age group, I feel.
First was ‘Liz”, them Marsha, B4 settling on Roxanne, which was suggested by a WOMAN ‘associate”. I preferred it to other 2.
Patricia was a simple feminization of my given name, Patrick. It’s sort a compromise with my parents. I would at least honor their chosen name for me, and in return they accept my decision. (Now to work on getting them to use she/her pronouns on a regular basis)
When we adopted our daughter 29 years ago. We bandied a few names about and one of them was Wendy Marie and another one was Laura Elizabeth. We decided on the latter that way we could call her Laura Beth. I always thought Wendy Marie was very cute and feminine. I opted to use it for my fem name. It’s cute like me
well wrote my story and can’t find ,will rewrite again
II choose Fátima because is my crush name
My feminine name came quite easily, my aunts name is Vickie so I just thought I’d honor her. Besides not much to think about since my male name is Vince.
I chose Jennifer because I heard somewhere that it is a modern variant of Guinevere and wanted to honor my English heritage.
