It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
My actual male name is Spencer.
Whenever i would tell people my name they would ALWAYS respond “Oh, Spencer Tracey” (the famous actor).
Tracy was actually a nickname for me in early school days
Awesome photo, Tracey….in these days, it wouldn’t00000000000000000000 be unusual for a Woman or Girl to name oneself “Spencer”.?
Hi. A next door neighbor was having health issues and hired some caregivers, mostly from the Ukraine, and one of them was named “Dina”. I had never heard that name before and it stuck with me. Years later, when I finally came ‘out’ in 2007,, the name just popped into my head. I liked it because it is unique; I still haven’t met another gurl with the same name…..
I probably put far too much time and energy in the selection of my Female name however I really was searching for a name that would embody the beauty and soul that is what I am seeking to express as my exact feminine characteristics. In the beginning I was struggling with the morality of my gender expression but after much back and forth self analysis I came to the conclusion that neither the public nor myself had the right to pass judgement on me and my gender identity expression. After much thought and even dreams related to my female name selection I decided that I would choose a name that was not in my family or relatives and that I believed expressed grace, and a gentle softness genuine with the woman I loved inside and outside which is myself. It is something I feel very special and fortunate that unlike the birth name given to us we have the opportunity to select the name that best represents who we are as a person!
I chose the name Rose because it reminds me of the slow awakening of my inner beauty from my male side and blossoming into a beautiful woman. It makes me feel so wonderful!
When my wife discovered I loved to dress, she gave me the name Ann, it was her middle name, she said she now has a sister, a best friend and a husband, I was very lucky, she loved to shop for both of us, always came home with something for Ann.
Hi ever since I started dressing the I always associated the name Marilyn with very feminine lovely woman and its very close to my birth name Michael
It seemed natural to choose a name that approximated to my birth name. Perhaps what I might have been called if I had been born female. To me it is a feminine name that matches my tendency to be a girly girl.
I started dressing early in my life around 6 years old but not nearly to the point of passing as a girl. My friends sister used to dress me and her brother up as kids. All through high school i wore stockings and pantiesSo after I graduated high school in 1989 I became fond of a model turned porn star name Dominique Simone. The first time I dressed in full I masturbated to one of her movies and was now even more obsessed with her. I looked at her and other black porn stars in magazines such as players to get makeup and style ideas. I had an unfortunate event with my girlfriend in experiencing a still birth. I hadn’t yet come up with a name since I kept in the house but my girl said I should call myself Antoinette in honor of the middle name of our child. I decided on Domannique Antoinette Sturmann. Changing the spelling to reflect “man” . Middle name for my first child. Last name would play if some one would call me Ms Sturmann. It sounds like mister man. A few year later I met Mt future wife who’s middle name was was the same as Domanniques so I decided to drop it all together. I changed my last name to my mother’s madien name. After my divorce I met another lady who said I look like a Renee and I stuck with that Ms. Domannique Reneé Brown.
