It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I went with Kiera as it Kieran without the n.i love being a female;) x
I chose my for multiple reasons. 1) because of my initials, and 2) used names in honour of my 2 favourite movies i.e) Siter Act and Smokie and the Bandit 2(reference to the sheriff’s Wife “Wilhelmina”)
My Father used to jokingly call me Wilhenmina when I was a teenager, because I had long hair (still do 40 years later). But I didn’t pick it for my gurl name.
But your selection goes nicely together.
Thank you for the kind compliment.
I had a different first name that I chose for myself, but all my friends kept calling me Vicky so I guess I fit the Victoria personality with is my current first name my middle name is Veronica which I am going to be changing legally to very soon
Mom had picked Jill Ann if I was a girl. When I changed my name from my male name, I changed to Jillian instead of Jill Ann. Middle name is Claire, after my Mother.
My birth name is James and the feminine to James is Jamie and Lynn goes well with that 🙂
Changing the name from Michael to the feminine Michele was a practical move. They both have the same meaning, except I’m a girl now. But I had it legally changed to Michel in order to navigate potentially difficult situations. They are pronounced the same and are interchangeable. It pairs with my last name that has the same origin.
Mine comes from Issac Asimov, that man really knew his mutton chops 🙂
You are gorgeous Acadia.
I’ve long loved the name “Raine.”As a writer/storyteller, I make very conscious decisions when selecting names for characters I create. I extended this same selective(ness) when choosing my name: Raine Celeste Phoenix.
Raine means Queen. Celeste is self-explanatory. Phoenix, obviously, is a fictional bird that dies in a blaze of glory to be reborn from the ashes.
Putting them together, at least in my own mind, my name means, “Queen of the heavens/Cosmos, reborn.”
I like it. Nice thought and selection went into it.
