It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Lindy is my given name, so makes it easy to have a feminine name. Not sure what my parents were thinking, but I’m glad they gave me a girls name. 🙂
Susan Foreman was the first Doctor Who companion!
My name was going to be Jessica were I born a girl
Some what complicated to keep it simple. For a very long time i went by Victoria. Love, love love that name. But, it’s unique enough that it draws attention which is not want. So, i went to a baby name site and looked up the top 5 girls names for my year of birth an ended up with Linda. I’ve not done the last name but i will be changing it to further myself from my now male identity. I read that one should check initials, and sound so not to draw attention. Choose a last name that isnt already famous, so be sure to look it up. Finally, spelling, if the name is difficult to pronounce or is very unique, you will be asked constantly how to spell it which in some’s view, may be more unintended attention than they are looking for.
I hope to eventually end up with a simple maiden name from the family a few generations back.
I chose Amanda as it is a little like my male name. I have been told what my name would have been if I were born a girl “Justine” and I am just not that. I just like how Amanda sounded.
Parents once told me what girl name they also picked.
The name I chosed is Stephanie as I find it’s a beautiful name and it defines me, My birth name is Stephane, I feel I could be myself with the name Stephanie
