It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
i did not choose my name . it had been choosen by my ex girlfriends father. i had living their for about a year when she bet me i could wear womens underwear for 3 months. her father chimed in say that i had to wear the same thing she wore every day. then said that her older sister left clothes from when she had a over weight problem. that he was suppose to throw out. i had just been laid off for the seasons and said why not.so i took the bet. to start the i had to wear a complete outfit from her sisters room. then take all of my male underwear too a donation area. then deposite them. it was a fun contest i had towear a nylon night gown to sleep in, and every time she had towear a slip i ha d to witch was great because i also had towear a dress or skirt from her sisters collection . it got a little embarrassing at cristmas. when the hole family bought more panties, skirts ,dresses, and night gowns. plus three gift certificates. 1 nail salon. 2 hair salon.3 era percing. her sister and her took me out before newyears in a floral print dress and had it taken care of when we got back he called me kristeen. he said that since i seem to love my new clothes that it was a appriate name for me .
I chose Vanessa because it is the name I had given of being born with the body right, although some of my friends croosdresser and transgender Violet call me also, since they say that name going very well, however I prefer Vanessa but when the legal process to change my identity male to female, I think Yes usare name Vanessa Violet compounds
I chose the name Kosephina Martinez. It took me a while, but it just sounded like it matched my attitude and behavior. It just sounded like me.
There is about four parts of how other name came to be. My real name is traditionally male however in recent years more females have been given the name. Didn’t sound right as my female name so I adapted it to a more traditional female name, only three letters are different. It was too similar to my real name I decided to change it again, this time in honor of a stillborn family member. With the name change she kind of developed a life of her own. Her story evolved to explain her character traits and her appearance. At a certain point she no longer was a side of me but a persona. And so she needed a new last name, and Tron: Legacy had just been released. I loved the movie and its soundtrack. I did what I thought was logical.
I think the name Swan chose me because I love the ugly duckling becomes beautiful story, it is the name of the tg protagonist in the book 2312 and SW are my initials. People frequently tell me they love my name. : )
I picked my name from the comic book x-men I read as a young kid; in the very first issue gambit calls rogue Cherie I thought it was beautiful and elegant so I made it mine. The middle name was the first I thought of to keep my initials the same but I loved how they went together.
I chose Sarah-Jane to keep a family tradition going. There has been a Sarah-Jane on the paternal side of the family in each generation since the mid 18th century except mine, so that’s the reason I chose it.
Can somebody suggest a asian female name for me. I’ve been having trouble trying to create my female persona. My looks are near passable but I need a nice name!
Help!…..
Love, vincent
