It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Childhood friend that I admired that moved we lost touch but still in thoughts
I went with the same logic my mom did when naming me at birth. The name just flows well, Andrea Haley Butler… like a river
The name Melissa came quickly without effort on my part, but there was logic behind it. I wanted a completely feminine name, preferably a name not shared by anybody I knew. And Melissa, derived from a Greek word, sounds beautiful
I was born Robert Curtiss. Yech! I decided to become Rachelle Chloris and keep my initials the same.
Name choice was emotional versus logical. My male name started with a C and also is a once syllable. Wanted it unique, but inspired by Jenner. It just seemed to fit. I’m a late, late bloomer . I now feel more comfortable with using Cris then my male name. Living two lives now, so must keep the male name for now on work days.
My me is James Nicholson, Nichole James is the natural fit.
When I really embraced my femme self, the show Alias was airing. I admired Jennifer Garner’s character. I changed it up a bit.
I adored Penny Robinson from the weekly show Lost in Space. I adored everything about her and envied her every time I watched the show. So I decided on that name.
