It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I had two girl friends Brenda and chrissy.
I loved both their names .
Great names…such a pretty, classy, sophisticated look, lovely.
At 73 yo, it’s getting tougher every year to maintain my efforts to look as good as I can. Pics for your evaluation…
I chose my first name from a character on the soap opera that my Mom watched back in the late 60s (yes, I’m old). My middle name comes from my maternal grandmother whom I never knew. She died when my Mom was 8.
I decided that Destiny would be my female name because I have always felt that it was my destiny to be female and have always wanted to be female. That’s how I chose the name.
I chose my name in 1994 when I went for a makeover at Transformation in London. I had never really thought about a name before then. I remember the make up artist asking me and I thought of Caroline on the spot as it was a name I liked and had the same initial as the name I was given at birth.
My First, Middle and Last names are taken from elementary school teachers that I adored as a boy. The three ladies were intelligent, positive and of course attractive. All three, in my mind, were classy and stylish in all aspects. As a young crossdresser, I struggled with my confusion and desire to be like them. As a adult crossdresser, I strive to be more like the ladies I adored as a boy. Barbara, Jane and Miss Weston.
Have fun dressing!

hii ever since childhood my relatives and friends used to call me with name madhuri. they have even dressed me up many times as girl to enact in few theatres. my boy’s name is madhur and it is very easy for me to change my name from madhur to madhuri. also in india madhuri dixit is a very famous and sensual actress and is my ideal. my one brother also calls me madhuri aunty which makes me very happy. i also like to be nicknamed as mady.
The name April just seemed to come to me. No real agonizing though the process. I just know I loved the name. Always felt light and feminine to me. So it was an easy choice.
Andrew is my middle name and Judith is what my parents would have named me had I been born a real live girl. (sigh)
