A beautiful pair of shoes or high heels can instantly make you feel more feminine and attractive.
But do you struggle to find stylish women’s shoes in your size?
In this article, I share my top places to shop for shoes for trans women and crossdressers – particularly if your feet are US women’s size 13 or larger!
How to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes
But first, let’s talk about how to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes. This actually varies a lot from country to country.
In the US and Australia, there’s approximately a 2 size difference between men’s and women’s shoes.
To find your women’s shoe size, simply add 2 sizes to your usual men’s shoe size. For example, a men’s US size 11 would be women’s US size 13.
If you are in the UK, Europe, or Asia, things are much easier since there’s no difference between men’s and women’s shoe sizes.
However, regardless of the size, keep in mind that men’s and women’s shoes are shaped slightly differently. Men’s shoes are usually wider at the heels.
For that reason, I always recommend trying on shoes before you buy them, rather than relying on the numerical size alone.
Now that you know your shoe size, let’s go shopping!
Long Tall Sally
The ultimate shopping destination for tall women, Long Tall Sally offers large size women’s shoes up to a US size 15. This UK based e-commerce site offers service and shipping within the US, UK, EU, and Australia.
Pleaser Shoes
While Pleaser Shoes prides itself on being the leader in sexy footwear, they offer a range of styles – from sexy to classic and pinup to goth. Most importantly, they offer women’s shoes up to a size 16.
Update: Our lovely reader Jolene has shared that with Pleasers, depending on the style of shoe, a trans woman or crossdresser may need to add THREE sizes to their male shoe size.
FSJ Shoes
FSJ Shoes is a China-based shoe manufacturer that offers a huge array of styles up to a size 15 US. Best of all, they also offer custom made shoes at affordable prices so you can make any shoe dream come true!

I am looking for womens size 17 in a sandal if any of you gals have any ideas. I have some Pleaser pumps that fit but would like to get some sandals for summer. Like thong sandals…Hugs!
My go-to CD repository is…
THRIFT STORES!
I frequent Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, etc. You’d be surprised at all the fantastic shoes (and clothes, I hasten to add) one can find at these stores.
Also, having previously worked for Goodwill, you would be amazed at the stuff that *hasn’t* made out to the floor yet 😉 It was everything I could do to keep my paws off the dresses and shoes 😛
Occasionally, I’ll buy some nice shoes online, since I can wear womens’ 9’s, 9.5’s, and 10’s (depending on the manufacturer, of course, so I have to be careful…one shoe outlet’s 9 could be another’s 10, and so forth).
I have so much trouble with shoes of the same dimension having different sizes. I have a 11″ foot and have found that US sizes can go from that usually I take a size 11 but have found one shoe company that has my length in a size 9 and yet in the same state I tried a size 9 at a different store and it was far too small. I than asked for a shoe measurement and found in that store I was a size 13. I was told that all manufacturers have different “lasts” That is the frame on which the shoe is made so girls if you find a shoe that fits but that brand only as it takes the hassle out of buying different brands and not knowing what size to ask for and of course all the embarrassment of not knowing what size you want.
Thanks Lucille, What a GREAT FIND FOR US,
im lucky, i can wear size 9 9.5 shoes. im pretty small. so i usually dont have much of a problem finding shoes .. my problem is i LOVE shoes heels boots you name it but i have no noney. i alway wind up picking up a pair of shoes and fainting when i see the price. the more expensive it is the quicker it finds me 🙂
Glad I don’t have to worry about this any more. I’m retired, so I don’t have to get dressed for the office. My “style” is casual and relaxed. FlipFlops around the house. Tennies for shopping in the summer. New Balance in the winter. I bought a pair of dressy/casual shoes at Kohl’s several years ago and will wear them if I have to go someplace ‘dressy’. I’ve worn them to my last two high school reunions in 2014 and 2009, my late ex’s funeral and a few luncheons at the Senior Center. I have some heels…somewhere. Not sure at the moment. I did buy from Payless years ago. Kohl’s, Kmart, WalMart, Penneys, and a couple others I cannot remember at the moment. LOL! At one time, I had 55 pairs of shoes in my closet! Talk about a “Shoe-Whore!”

Gerri
I’ve found sneakers, casual and dress shoes (low and high heels) up to size 13 (maybe even 14) at Payless. The prices are right, the shoes are comfy and the fit is wonderful. I am a member of the Payless club so I get discount cards in the mail from time to time. Being thrifty and enjoying my footwear from Payless.
My favorite shoe store in the Midwest is Shoe Carnival. Great selection and reasonable prices.
I wear a 10.5 or 11 men’s shoe and a size 12 women’s shoe works for me most of the time. I wish the really sexy, pretty booties I see in catalogs or online came in my size at an affordable price.
