If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!
How do YOU stay connected to your feminine self? I’d love to know, so please share in the comments below!

I sent a message several days back & did not have a photo at the time, I had this one taken by my friend last summer so thought I would forward it today. I am going out this evening to a classical concert @ one of my favourite places. Really looking forward to getting dressed & feeling great. I am alone but that doesn`t matter.
Lucille,Hope you are settling now & enjoying the gorgeous weather you get over there. it was warmer here but another cold snap due I think.
I to have had many time at work wearing nylons and undies with no one noticing a thing. i also wear mitchems womens deoderant as it has a much nicer scent then mens. Often when wearing a patterned shirt i have worn a seamless bra and no one has noticed (i do have enough of me to actually fill a C+ cup so wearing one does help with support). and feel so feminie when shoering and shaving the nessary places everyday with a venus razor. so keep all the good things coming and sisiteer enjoy being your girly selves
I’ve presented parts of my female side in at least two different ways. First, I’ve been wearing women’s leather jackets when going out with friends and to work on Fridays. The second is having my hair touched up and cut to a more feminine style. I’ve followed through pictures of women with short hairstyles and wanted to experiment with mine, and you can see from my pictures. The picture of me with my brown leather jacket is set as a wallpaper on my cell phone. Trust me, I have been doing a lot of mirror shots with the phone camera, trying on new outfits and getting ready for the club.
hi,
Thank you for all of your tips. I feel my breasts are developing at a fair rate.
I wear panties 24/7 to feel girly and have pedicures and manicures about every 3 to 4 weeks at a nail salon. The girls there make me feel welcome and very girly.
thanks again,
Terilyn
Thank you Lucille,
Your support and insight gives me strength!! I really want to get acrylics but I’m worried about
getting them off. Kinda like a Thursday to Sunday thing. Any suggestions.
Thank you,
You truly are amazing!!!! xoxo KatT
Hi Kat,
I wore acrylics for about seven years with many of the colors you’d expect a gal to wear but was en homme as my Gordon self most of the time. Click the picture of Gordon to see the red nails he was wearing to the father/daughter dance. I wore them in public and to work with no problems. No they don’t come off easy but if you’d really like to have them the manicurist can use a natural looking acrylic. Then get a light nail polish or get the color you want and remove the polish before going to work. Very few people are as observant as Sherlock Holmes and it’s relatively easy to hide your nails when you want to at your side, in your pockets or behind your back but just in case have your excuse ready. Any excuse will do and optionally you can have some fun kidding about it. I like to tell the very few who notice and ask, “I don’t know. I just can’t seem to stay out of the fluffy stuff.” and shrug my shoulders. That makes them laugh. More often I’d get compliments on the color. Watch out! You may get some girl talk about nails and polish.
I’ve been wearing a metallic pink last couple of weeks and now I’m in the mood for lavendar. I love a good nail color. Enjoy girls. :)<<

Hi Kat,
Acrylics are fun,but not for only a couple of days, they are hrd to get off and your nails take weeks to recover,a professional manacure is still great fun and with only a few days nail growth the beautician can do wonders, lets face it an afternoon at the beauty parlor is time well spent.Waxing, plucking,IPL and then the rewards massage, facial makeup if you want to be treated as a girl the best place is with the beauty theropist,I wouldn’t miss my fortnightly visit.
Lots of love Jayne
Hi
One way to feel girlie is to have your period. I buy my own pads and have that time of month. I also wear scented panty liners the rest of the month. Nothing more womanly than having to change your pad every 4 to 6 hours.
Awesome idea
HI everyone !
I just really started getting into this girly stuff, and loving it!!! i have been practicing wearing heels and make up and all the fashions as well. I need to go shopping to get more, and i think i would make a gorgeous girl, cant wait to explore more !!!
