If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!

I’m always wearing a bra and panties from the time i get up till i go to bed. I got rid of all my male under wear, and only buy ladies jeans. And wear t-shirts and tops that like you said, could be for both males or females. And wear clear nail hardener when I’m not in a dress or skirt. I also wear a cotton candy scented body spray.
Love being fem,
Cathy Renee
Lucille , every day when I get home from work , I change into all feminine clothes. I wear thongs all the time now outside of work under womens jeans . A friend of mine turned me to Transwonder Bra. It is a bra that gives anyone a nice cleavage , that also comes with their own set of breast forms. You can jump up and down , and everything stays put ! I wear it daily (one is always in the wash ) as it gives me the weight on my chest of real breasts and movements. When it is cold, I wear an oversized hoodie under my leather biker jacket and nobody could tell that underneath is sitting a pair of 38DD breast forms ! Yes, an album of pictures does help . When I had a makeover , I took all the pics and are on my computer . Every morning before fgoing to work , I turn on a slide show of over 1500 pics and let it run until I go out the door . I always find myself making time to view the pics before I go out the door ! Suzie
Dear Lucille,
You are a true gift to our community and I’ve enjoyed all your emails.
Love,

PS – I try to wear pantyhose underneath my jeans to keep me grounded.
Hi, Lucille, I find that I am looking daily to see if there is a message from you. I have saved all your messages for the last couple of years and can reread them from time to tiome. One of the things that keeps me girly is the way I walk, placing one foot strightin front of the other and moving my hips the way I have learnt to do quite well (especially if i have the chance to wear heels. I generally wear a bra slip which emphasises my bosom, but under a loose jumper if i go out. Keep up the good work! xx
Being femme has changed my whole life for the better. I am more self confident, feel better and take more care in how I look. I have 3 very good lady friends who are 100% supportive and are pushing me to be more and more femme. We go shopping together, travel out of town some weekends and just have a few drinks together.
I go to work with bra and panties, stockings and girly jeans. My breasts are growing and now at 442B, hoping to reach a full c. I wear very light eye shadow which blend in nicely with my skin, and other eye makeup. My lip stick is very natural and also protects my lips correctly. My ears are pierced and wear earrings full time. As for my nails they are professionally done monthly and presently extend about 4mm past the finger tips.
This is now my life at 64, best ever and thanks for all this great suppot.

Hi Lucille, Once again, many really good suggestions on feeling femme underneath all the dowdy male outerwear!
I always wear a bra and panties, sometimes tights or stockings. I have a gorgeous pair of ladies sandals that I wear in the summer, and an array of blouses. No-one has ever commented that they button up the “wrong” way.
But by far the most impotant tips are that I always wear clear nail varnish (Avon do a very pale pink that is almost invisible!), if I’m feeling very femme I wear a little mascara, and always feminine deodorants and perfume.
Lots of love and kisses,
Jacqui
Testimonies of theirs and your advises helped a lot in the journey towards complete feminisation. I have noticed that my cup size increased from 38 to 40 and I regularly wear bra. My wife also support me in this matter. Most of the time my wife select bra for me. I always wear bra inthe house. Whenever we go for shopping also I wear bra. Even if it is revealing since my wife has no objection,I don’t care. The support received from my family is great encouragement. When I wear bra and go out and even people stare at me I feel an inner joy and recognition that I am on the correct path.
Thanks and regards
Great suggestions all around. Beyond intimate apparel underneath and adding a few favorite accessories (chain & locket, bracelet, etc), the best way I’ve found to stay in a feminine mindset is to work on movement and posture.
For movement, I work on being light on my feet as I walk – and consciously snapping myself out of it if I catch myself plodding stiffly. I’ll also cross my legs smoothly underneath tables and desks. LastLy, I pay attention in the day to see if anything is really tense and work to stretch it out a bit so I can move a bit more fluidly.
For posture, I learned a trick from dance class… First make a motion like a librarian shushing a room (index finger poised in front of lips). As you “shush”, have your head move back from your finger as far as you can straightening back and neck in the process. After this, relax a bit and slide your finger toward the lips again and repeat. After 2 “shushes” my posture is a million times better and I feel bright and perky 🙂
Anyhow, hope that helps and thanks to everyone on the thread for all the great ideas!
