Full lips are a symbol of beauty and femininity. If you’re a crossdresser or a transgender woman, lush lips can have a big impact on your overall appearance!
Filler injections can give you the full lips of your dreams – but maybe you’re not quite ready to go under the needle?
The good news is that there are some simple, non-invasive ways to plump your pout.
In this blog post, I share 5 ways to get fuller, more feminine MTF lips. Read on to learn more!
1. Exfoliate Your Lips
Dead skin cells on the lips can make them look dry and chapped. Exfoliation removes the dead cells so your lips can hold onto more moisture, giving the lips a more luscious look.
Exfoliation also increases circulation to the lips, making them look fuller.
You can use a washcloth or soft toothbrush to gently exfoliate the lips. Or even better, look for an exfoliating lip scrub. Lush makes some great ones in a variety of flavors.
2. Try A Lip Pump
There are a number of devices out there that can temporarily plump the lips by using suction to draw fluid to the area. This creates a plumping effect that can last for several hours.
Here are some popular lip plumping devices:
The drawback to these devices is that they can cause bruising or even serious injury if they aren’t used correctly. They can also leave unattractive red marks on the face.
If you decide to try a lip pump, be sure to follow the instructions carefully.
3. Boost Collagen
Collagen is a protein in your body that helps keep the skin and lips plump and smooth. As you age, your body produces less collagen, which can lead to thinner lips and more wrinkles.
Luckily, there are a couple ways to increase collagen naturally:
- Take a collagen supplement. These are inexpensive and easy to find in any health food store.
- Eat collagen-enhancing foods. Try eating bone broth soups or fruits and vegetables with vitamin C. These foods support natural collagen production.
4. Enhance Your Lips With Makeup
The right makeup techniques can work wonders on your lips. However, it’s important to avoid going overboard so you don’t end up with artificial-looking clown lips.

5. Use A Lip Plumping Gloss
There are loads of cosmetic lip plumpers on the market that can give your lips an extra boost.
The best lip plumpers contain nourishing ingredients, like hyaluronic acid (to draw moisture to the lips) or peptides (to increase collagen). These plumpers create lasting results without damaging the lips.
Other lip plumpers contain irritating ingredients like cinnamon or cayenne. This creates swelling, which make the lips look fuller. However, they can dry out the lips in the long run. I recommend limiting your use of these.
Here are a few of my favorite lip plumping glosses:
- GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper Gloss
- TOO FACED Lip Injection Plumping Lip Gloss
- Sublime Lips Manuka Honey Lip Plumper

Hi,
I had my lips done with fat injections. You normally retain 70% of the fat injected permanently. I had super thin lips when I first started out. My surgeon did it as part of my facial work. It has made a huge difference in my overall appearance.
Hope this helps,
Bri
Bri you are gorgeous!
Good job, looks like quality work.
Thanks for the information.
hi.how can i make my face more feminine.I really find eyes and lips very hard to get right. thank you tanya
You look good now. I’ve seen a lot of less passable genetic women.
Plss send your details to make me informed.
Dear Alison,
My looks and passing improved tremendously, after I bougt an Epilator and pulled the remaining hair out with tweezers. The shape of your face is feminine enough, but your beard shadow shows too much. Pulling out your facial hair is initially quite strenuous and real hard work. But in the long run, I found it worthwhile.
Best Wishes from
Erika
I want to improve my feminine look?
Hi Lucille.
I do agree with you, lip plumping is a very useful way to achieve beautiful lips. I’m using cosmetic lip plumpers on a daily basis. Last year, I bought the Luchious Lips device from Grae Phillips in New York. Wow, that was something! I started off with too heavy pumping and got blue lips as result. Now I use it about 40 sec, almost daily. Might use it a bit heavier before going out or on spesial occasions only. I just love it!

Hi Alison…the older I get the thougher it is…if I’m right you beard shadown seems to be showing…a good base will cover that up….second as another girl said…eyes eyes eyes…spend more time on mascara and eye shadow!!…soft pink and burgundy lipsticks go better with age along with lighter hair. JEWELERY!!…earrings, necklace, and bracelets at a minimum!!…all this will put a feminine sparkle to your pic
Yes good tips. I’ll try the lip pump!
ciao ciao
