Choosing the right words to describe your gender identity can feel tricky. For transgender and non-binary people, finding a label that fits is personal and important.
Using respectful language matters. Outdated or offensive terms can hurt, so it’s okay to set boundaries about how others address you.
At the same time, you are more than a label. What matters most is how you choose to define yourself, no matter where you are on the gender spectrum.
Do you have a label that feels right – like crossdresser, transgender woman, non-binary, or something else?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, so let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

i am also glad that you support the the labeling issue to. i am also glad to see people identifying themselves as they see fit, i do however think i am also a “misplaced soul” myself.
I would say I am transwoman. I definitely am a woman, trapped in a male body.
Trapped you may be but the beautiful woman inside shines through.
Hi Lucille,
It’s so nice to have your support on the labeling issue. I’m a woman, but the body I move around doesn’t match my spirit. It’s not “pretty”, and “passing” as my real gender is quite impossible, given this bodys build. So I just think of myself as a “misplaced soul”.

I have always considered myself a crossdresser. I dress at home and have only ventured out three times while dressed. While I didn’t read all the comments here, I saw one that referred to “dressing for stress relief” and that has been my guiding thought for many years.
I use trans-woman, androgyne, and 2-spirit interchangeably. I’m not presenting full time as a woman, so that works well for me depending on how I’m presenting myself to the world at a particular time. Thank you for asking!
Hello Lucille,
I does not bother me how other people label me. I know who I am and that is I need to know. Some people are stereotyped and if they do not like who we are then they need to deal with it. Many of us have finally come out of the closet and it took us a long time. I am proud of who I am and I enjoy being who I am.
Thank You Lucille,
William Traud.
p.s. I am a transgender.
