When it comes to expressing your gender identity, navigating labels can be tricky. For those identifying as transgender or non-binary, finding the right words is essential.
Obviously, it’s important for people to use language that respects and reflects your identity. Outdated or offensive terms can be hurtful.
However, it’s important to remember that you’re more than just a label!
Ultimately, what matters most is how you personally want to be addressed, regardless of where you fall on the gender spectrum.
So, let’s talk about it!
Do you have a particular term or label that resonates with you – such as crossdresser, transgender woman, non-binary person, or something else?
I’m eager to hear your thoughts, so let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!

I wish I had a better idea of how to classify myself. Here’s my take on the whole thing.
Cd to me implies lowest level of feminization effort, usually closeted, often hairy, hormones never considered. Doesn’t usually put a whole lot of effort into looking fem. Indulge in fantasy wear in private, no desire to go public. Like the taboo idea, certain fetish wear, may not want or be able to go further due to work, family or because of looks, etc. Usually are fine being their male self, no desire to become more feminine but want to be with someone that is or can “help them with make up”. Typically hide behind emojis.
A Transvestite or tv, a bit more committed to being fem. They may be taking feminizing supplements or seriously considering some sort of body modification to be more feminine like some pills or creams to increase breast size, maybe something to make their butt nicer. May not have made the complete commitment to be a full time woman, looking good when they dress is good enough and can’t or won’t give up the male side. I would probably classify myself as Tv. To me this means complete body save, always, applying makeup good enough to go out in public, a nice wig, long or short & not too crazy, like blue, etc. painted artificial nails whenever possible, woman’s skinny jeans, a top , things that are nice but not attention seeking & for me usually heels, 2 to 5+”. Fetish wear is saved for certain clubs or events.
Transgender/transsexual to me are only those who have a consuming desire to be female, usually since very young, are on HRT and everything they do is to complete the woman they have always felt they were. SRS would be the ultimate goal.
Finally drag queens. To me entertainers, often over the top dressing for stage performances. Dressing for audiences, singing, dancing for the audience.
I am transgender. I have been a girl in my mind since around 4 years of age. I go out at a girl in public all the time. I am accepted at a woman most of the time.

I am definitely a male to female transgender woman. Since I was five I knew I was a girl. I loved playing dressup with my cousins,& playing dolls. I always wanted to be a mother,& have children. It was so exciting to wear makeup,& pretty dresses. I loved going out with my cousins as a girl,& going to movies, dress shops,& dressing up for church. I always loved dressing as a girl,& going trick or treating. I always like to dress as a hooker as I got older. I could go to Bourbon Street,& never get noticed aless I went really real drag looking. What a thrill. XOXO
Anyone tried a way to hide front hair loss that works just gor stepping out ? Also what is best for nails, acrylic or gel? I wear them to work too. I wear short heels or wedges most of the time. My family and workers just think im eccentric. Although they have never seen my fully girlie. My youngest son visited while i was wearing a dress, i just told him it was comfortable. He was embarassed. His wife thought it was awesome and wanted to take me shopping, but I declined. Maybe i should have said yes. I told my girlfreind about my other self, but despite her requests I am not comfortable yet letting her see me en femme yet. I am almost 6 feet tall with heels and this may be why I have only once had anyone try to abuse me. I ran after them (they were in a truck) swearing at them. No further problem. You can run in heels lol.
I love to wear girlie clothes. Dresses stretchy jeans and tops. Underwear. I have falsies. Not sure what I am. Have no interest in males sexually, and dont feel like i need to be a girl all the time. Use makeup, am not very good at it. Sometimes go walk my dog in the evenings dressed. Also i will wear jeans and a girly top around town. I grew my hair long, but its thin at the front. I wear nail polish or false nails all the time.
I definitely feel that I am a transgender woman. I have no other memories as long as my knowledge that I was female and not mail. Perhaps that makes me a real woman.
I totally agree with Harmony. I am a woman, period! But if you insist on labels then I am a transgender woman….and proud of it, I might add.
Amen!
