Did you know you only have 7 seconds to make a first impression?
If you want to start crossdressing or presenting yourself as a woman, making a strong first impression is key!
In this blog post, I’ll share 7 easy ways to ensure you leave a feminine first impression that lasts. Let’s dive in!
1. Know What You Want to Project
Start by figuring out what image you want to project:
- Do you aim to blend in as an everyday girl?
- Or do you prefer to stand out as a gender-bending fashion diva?
- Do you want to be recognized for your style and sophistication?
- Or do you simply want people to notice your great legs? 🙂
Knowing your desired image helps you align your appearance and attitude with your goals.
2. Be Aware of Your Body Language
Body language is critical to first impressions. You never want to look nervous, shy, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, arrogant.
Instead, project the image of a classy, confident lady deserving of respect.Â

3. Wear The Right Color
Did you know that 50% of all non-verbal messages come from color? It’s true!
The colors you wear have a strong impact on how people perceive you, especially when presenting as a woman.
In this blog post, I share the meanings of different colors so you can choose shades that flatter you and boost your confidence.
4. Check your Grooming Habits
Physical attractiveness often boils down to self-care – grooming, neat hair, and stylish clothes.
Luckily, your presentation is within your control! Don’t underestimate the power of good grooming – it can make or break a first impression.Â
Here are 5 feminine grooming habits to incorporate into your routine.
5. Mind your Shapewear
The shape of your body powerfully broadcasts your gender expression in an instant. To appear as feminine as possible, consider investing in quality shapewear, such as:
- High-quality breast forms
- A waist cincher or corset
- Hip and butt padding
Shapewear helps create the right body proportions and feminine curves.
6. Dress for the Occasion
Have you ever found yourself overdressed or underdressed for a particular occasion? Not only do you feel awkward, but you stick out like a sore thumb!
Ensure a positive first impression by dressing appropriately for the occasion and adhering to local style norms.
7. Accessorize for Impact
Accessories can make or break an outfit and your first impression.
A high-quality handbag or beautiful shoes can elevate your look, while scuffed shoes or mismatched accessories can do the opposite.
Add the right touches, such as beautiful jewelry or a flattering pair of sunglasses, to enhance your feminine appearance.
What impression do YOU want to make?
There’s a lot to be said about this topic, but I’ve highlighted the most important areas you should consider.
Now I’d like to hear from you!
What’s the first impression that YOU want to make? Do you have any tips to add to this list?
I’d love to hear from you, so please share in the comments below!

Lucille

I’m at a place where everything you have put out there has worked. I can go out in public and be called a lady. It very satisfying and sort of a turn on. If I would be asked by a guy for a date, hell yes I would go and have a great time. Since I am also bi-sexual, it may lead to a wonderful relationship. The possibilities are endless.
While I do take care to try and look “passable”, it’s not to blend in. Being confident as both man and woman I seem to have attracted the media, here in England, and try to educate the public about our reasons to Transition, whether it be all the way to surgical re-assignment or just dressing occasionally. I have found the best way is to smile, be friendly and take an interest in whoever you meet. A smile and friendly manner goes along way.

Lucille,
I want to thank for making all this happen. To me you are the best online adviser for TG Girls. I have been studying so much of all of your tips and advice. I have even purchased a few of your programs to help me along the way. I most definitely have learned so much from this one site. I have been busy for over a year now putting my image together so far I am finding the right clothes that make me look like I belong in this world and fit. Your tips about how to enhance the qualities of what you are born with are just incredible. I am just beginning now to shop for clothing that fit and they really do. I now know a little bit about shoes. I must confess this is becoming a weak point. It’s like going to a candy store and you just want to taste them all. I had a few months ago bought my first wig. Not exactly what I had hoped for. Yesterday I consulted with a company to buy two more wigs that are going to be just fabulous. The young lady was so good to me. I think I am more excited about this than Christmas. lol My next thing is to learn how to apply makeup and I got your program for that. Lot’s of good info and I can hardly wait to see me make the transition. Thank you again for everything. I post my photo because I wanted all to see where I am at now and as time goes by I post more photos as I make the change.
Sincerely,
Gerri

Hi,
Confidence , This is two fold and maybe contary , Im very confident as a person and as a female, very strong and have no issues being a female,
= not trans = im a woman at 69,
Okay my issues started at age 10 in not ever liking how I looked ,so confidence in myself as being feminine in how I look is the issue not my body as that’s great its just my facial features and nothing will change that so forget makeup that’s out done that and to look stupid will be worse, though I meet 1000,s of people and in the public a lot makes me feel a fool and embarrised , when your born with this male, ish look its very very hard to just brush under the carpet,
Even being a female does not ease this feeling… if you like… it,s the one detail about my self I cannot shake off, other details about myself are good and passable with out a problem so I avoid the camera,s even though I do photography for others , and do get caught out and cant wiggle out of it so I don’t show photos of myself just the one or two I …have …too and I don’t like them youll see one of three on Facebook and other forums im on and that’s it,
The good note is I see many of you here with lovely photos of your selfs very lovely.
