Does your height hold you back from presenting your fab femme self to the world?
It shouldn’t. In fact, I say embrace your height, girlfriend!
While it’s true that many crossdressers and transgender women are taller than the “average” female, who cares?
Tall women are HOT!
But if your goal is to downplay your height, there are some simple techniques you can use.
Here are 4 easy ways to look shorter:
1. Don’t Slouch
Slouching isn’t attractive – and it only draws attention to the fact that you’re not proud of your height.
Resist the urge to slouch. Instead, stand tall! You’ll come across as confident and self-assured.
2. Wear the Right Shoes
You should obviously stay away from high heels if you want to look shorter. But that doesn’t mean you have to live in flats!
Look for shoes with a chic kitten heel. A low heel adds elegance to your look without a big increase in height.
Shoes can also make your legs and feet appear shorter:
- Choose shoes with rounded toes instead of pointy ones to make your feet look shorter.
- Wear shoes with straps over the instep or ankle. This helps break up the long line of your legs.
3. Dress to Downplay Your Height
The clothes you wear have a huge impact on your overall appearance. Here are 5 dos and don’ts for downplaying your height:
- DO choose full skirts and dresses to draw the eye horizontally instead of vertically. (More width = less height.)
- DON’T wear super tight clothes. (Less width = more height.)
- DO wear a different color top and bottom to visually break up your figure.
- DON’T wear monochromatic outfits; this makes you look even taller.
- DO wear a contrasting belt to interrupt the eye from going straight up and down a long torso.
4. Choose the Right Hairstyle
The last thing to consider is your hair. The wrong style can make you look even taller, so here are 3 suggestions for avoiding unnecessary height:
- Avoid hairstyles with a lot of volume at the crown as this literally adds inches to your stature.
- Avoid wearing your hair too long since this tends to make you look even taller. Generally speaking, shoulder length hair is most flattering.
- Try a layered or wavy hairstyle with volume along the sides of the face. (Again, think horizontally instead of vertically.)
Yes, it’s true that you might be taller than the average woman. But don’t forget about the sexy, tall women out there who are revered for their long legs and height!
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic! Please share in the comments below!

To me Amy Adams is one of the sexiest on the planet. I always look to see if a woman is wearing nylons which on the right frame is a real turnon.
At 5’10” I’d take an extra 1-2″ in height for smaller feet, which are 42-43 EU.
I am almost 6’3 but love being tall and love my long legs and thin frame! I also love the reactions I get from all men and women as well, all flattering and very positive. Tall women are just ahead of the curve, evolutionarily speaking. proud to be an Amazon! Tall, tan, tone, trendy, tender & terrific!
OMG -I never realized that Uma was so tall! I’m 6′-2″ and wear heels too which puts me in the stratosphere. Tall chicks rock!
I’m only 5′ 3″ so I don’t have to worry about looking tall actually it helps being this tall as a lot of women are this tall or taller, as for my work it does hamper me quite a bit can reach top shelf’s, I have to stand on tip toe to do certain thing on the work surfaces but at least I can wear high heel nothing more than 4 inches for me & even that a little difficult.

Angelina Jolie is the sexiest woman on the planet and at 5′ 8″ is tall. I agree with julieboi about Julie Newmar, the original “Catwoman,” (is your name from her)? Venus got my vote as sexiest, but Brooke is the most beautiful and Uma’s got to be there.
I’m 6′ 1″ having shrunk from 6′ 2-1/2″ due to excessive cartilage loss, and I wear 2-1/2″ heels. I appreciate the tips as always Lucille. You’re the best!
Just thought I’d add this FYI: The average height today in the US for men is 5′ 10.2″ and for women is 5′ 4.6″. I was surprised at both, especially the women’s average.
Also, I have read that most women consider “the perfect height for a man” to be 6′ 2″. Interestingly enough, all the men who played James Bond have been 6′ 2″, except, now two. In chronological order: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton were all 6′ 2″. Roger Moore was 6′ 1″, and Pierce Brosnan who followed him was also 6′ 2″. The new Bond, Daniel Craig is 5′ 10″ but he makes up for it with the best body.
I chose Brooke. I say that because I actually met her on a number of occasions from the time she was at the beginning of her acting career and then as she became an adult. I worked as a photographer’s assistant at a modeling agency. She is so friendly and her classy demeanor, to me, is sexy.
I am 5’10”. I used to want to be shorter but now I just want to be thinner, lol. I like being tall now. My legs are long and I love it when men watch me walk. My only problem is that I prefer to date taller men. It’s hard to find that here in Dallas. I know, I know, everything is big in Texas. I don’t know who made that one up. I had much more luck in NYC where I was born and raised. Just might head back there soon. It feels so feminine to have a tall guy hold you close and place his hand gently under your chin and lift your face up to his lips to kiss you. Heaven
“Diana”…I Have to Agree…I Too, Love Kissing Sexy, Cute Men !!!
Diana, yes Brooke’s the one.
And mayou I say, you are Gorgeous! !
Great, classic look.At 71 yo, I use every thing trick in the book. I love my heels, & attracting to legs with great, beautiful 100% nylon stockings. The reason heels make the legs and feet look “good “: there is an “infinity factor ” .A flat shoe does the opposite, feet look Bigger, longer. Statuesque is attractive.
What is the verdict? ?
What do you think? ?
I used to freak out about my height, I even considered height emhancing surgery, but now I’m actually fond of my figure. I was always quite petite, measuring just 5’4″ made people always think I was much younger. Now at the age of 20 they still mistake me for a 15 year old 🙂
