Are you a crossdresser or transgender woman who wants to look as attractive as possible? If so, you’re in the right place!
The great news is that anyone can achieve a beautiful and feminine look – no matter their age, size, or shape.
However, there are certain image mistakes you’ll want to steer clear of. These blunders can significantly detract from a feminine appearance.
In this blog post on transgender beauty tips, I’ll be sharing 10 common MTF image mistakes to avoid.
1. Dry Or Cracked Lips
The lips are one of the most sensuous parts of a woman’s appearance. Full, moist lips are undeniably sexy.
Dry, cracked lips are a major distraction, so be sure to care for your lips with a nourishing balm or lip treatment.
2. Dirty Or Untrimmed Nails
Studies show that the better groomed you are, the more attractive you are perceived to be.
Keeping your hands and nails well groomed is important since hands are one of the first areas people notice (after the face).
Straggly nails are a sign of poor grooming habits, so pay extra attention to your hands and fingernails to enhance your feminine look.
3. Crossing Your Arms
Your body language speaks volumes. Crossing your arms is a defensive gesture that can make you look uneasy or insecure.
To project confidence and attractiveness when presenting as female, keep your body in an open and relaxed position.
4. Poor Table Manners
Etiquette is an important part of your feminine presentation. (So much so that I wrote an entire blog post about it here.)
Poor table manners are a huge turn off, so be watchful for things like: eating too fast, chewing loudly, and putting your elbows on the table.
5. Lack Of Sleep
They call it beauty sleep for a reason. From dark under eye circles to sallow skin, lack of sleep can take a serious toll on your appearance.
If you need help sleeping, check out my Sleep & Sparkle Program, which is designed to guide you to sleep while reprogramming your mind with feminizing suggestions.
6. Pulling The Diva Act
We can all agree that rude and demanding people are unattractive – so avoid the “diva” act.
On the other hand, kindness and a smile can work wonders to enhance your female appearance!
7. An Unnaturally High Pitched Voice
If you are trying to feminize your voice, then you may be tempted to speak in an overly high-pitched voice.
While it’s true that women have higher pitched voices, speaking in “falsetto” does not sound natural.
What’s more, this study shows that women with high pitched voices are considered less attractive than those with moderately-high pitched voices.
All the more reason to speak in a more natural vocal range!

8. Overpowering scents
Scent has a major impact on your overall attractiveness. Obviously, you’ll want to avoid turning people off with overpowering perfume or bad breath.
On the flip side, the right scent can make you appear more feminine and attractive. See my post on The Feminizing Power of Perfume to learn more.
9. Not Being Able To Walk In Your Shoes
The cutest shoes in the world won’t enhance your image if you can’t walk in them. Be sure you can walk comfortably and gracefully in your heels before stepping out in them.
10. Cursing
This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Using profanity when you speak doesn’t make you sound cool and edgy – it makes you sound crass and rude.
Your words can make or break your feminine image, so use them wisely.
In conclusion
These are 10 major crossdressing / transgender beauty blunders – but they’re not the only ones! Do you have any others to add to this list?
I’d love to hear from you on this topic, so please leave your comments below!

Two things:
1) I dispense with perfume. Too many places and persons don’t accept perfume due to allergies. I rarely smell perfume on other women. I gave up using it years ago.
2) Wearing skirts too short are an eyesore. Men’s legs are usually not like women’s legs. Some TG women can get away with it, especially if they are young, but most can’t. Some TG women think it’s feminine and sexy, but it usually isn’t; it just draws attention, then the viewer notices the wearer looks a little different from a regular genetic woman, then they read the situation, and then . . .. So, I dress to fit in, not to stand out. I think I look better and am more accepted that way.

You are so right again. My only wish is that ciswomen would cut down on the f word. I do not cuss. The only time I use the f word, is with extreme reasons and then I get the attention I want.
All simple but so easy to slip up as well. I find the concentration the most difficult – just remembering what born women do automatically that guys don’t, and to try and act accordingly. The coughing and sneezing one is certainly a good one – easy to lapse. Thanks again and lots to think about.
During allergy season I don’t leave the house without 3 handkerchiefs in my purse. And if as you say your in the stall and have to sneeze, well, practice sneezing at home lest you get clocked. Try keeping your mouth open when you sneeze. It eliminates much of the cheek n lip smacking that occures at the sneeze. With your mouth covered, its a sneeze but its less conspicuous. As for passing wind? Woman do it too, In fact, in the BR is where most women pass their gas as its not lady like to fart in public. Good Luck Harietta

Chewing gum. There’s the right way to chew and then there’s the
“dead givea-way” to masticate. Chew with your mouth closed lest you look like and sound like a Guernsey cow. Popping gum in your mouth making that loud sharp cracking sound serves only to piss-off others around you. If your 9 years old and just learning who to pop gum your cool otherwise your womanhood is just out of reach.
Table manners were mentioned a moment ago. Remove the gum from your mouth, discreetly, and take a corner of the serviette/napkin and place the gum into same. Sticking the gum to the underside of the table like a middle-schooler could and oft times dislodges a press-on nail or worse, jars the table spilling something, ON YOU. And of course, the waiter just love stepping on the wad you just threw on the floor.
Like my hairdresser said to me. “Dorothy, if your going to be a chic, be a chic all the way”. I’ll pass these same sentiments along to all you of ladies “in passing”.
One thing I never considered until recently is how to cough or sneeze as a girl. It can be a dead giveaway.
I was in the stall in the ladies’ loo and sneezed loudly…like the man I am most of the time.
And of course burping and passing wind are a no-no anyway. Try to avoid gas producing foods and carbonated drinks when going out. I have tried muffling the flatulence exit hole with a large cotton ball and that seems to work …so far……
Be aware ladies? And just how do you practice this?
Please, ladies. Your cursing and male-sounding voices drove me away from Facebook and into the loving arms of tumblr. I understand that the persistence of memory makes it hard to adapt, but the world knows and sees only two genders because the thalamic cortex in our brain is hard-wired for only two (an evolutionary survival tool). As someone said to me almost 70 years ago, “make up your mind.” It was good advice then, and I share it now. Thank you, Lucille, for your help and your advice.
Lucille – Thank You !
These are things we know in our heart of hearts, but sometimes forget. Number 8 – the perfume is the trickiest of all. We sensual people usually want to be remembered for our seductive alluring essence, depending on the occasion or event of course. Knowing that different people have both different levels of ability to smell & each may be offended by something different it’s almost no win-no win situation ! Light & Sweet is the safest IMHO !
Bad Breath Offends EVERYONE ! Breath is easily fixed through faithful oral hygiene & new products now available. Depending on the Event – Good Breath allows you to get close enough to give that special surprising kiss that says .. ” I am an Artist – Let me show you a masterpiece ” ~smiles~ tessa
