Overcoming my fears of even beginning the journey at fifty.
Today, I went to my very first gender therapy session. I’m still pinching myself that i actually went and its done….I waited so long for this to happen….and its a bit surreal now….
I guess going out dressed like a woman and passing has been exciting for me. Naturally, I was nervous but that soon passed when a lady in make up department commented highly on my make up, and was positive I was female which developed my confidence no end. I usually dress in leggings and runners with my hair tied back. It feels so natural. My only wish is to perfect my voice to be as feminine as possible. I love dressing up and going out shopping, cinema, etc.
When I told my son about Katherine…
Hi, probably for me it is going out for several hours at the shopping mall and not being spotted at a TG and being treated as a woman by shop staff. Lacey
Lucille! Honey that is a hard question. My most memorable outing was when I braved a regional Beauty and Health fair at one of our local community colleges. I was pampered, prettified and polished like all the other women attending. I got some free makeup lessons, dermatologist facial, skin de-tox and a lot of contacts. It was an incredible experience. I suggest all girls try it.
My greatest achievement thus Far is finally coming to terms with myself and accepting who I am and start transitioning.
My body, for the most part, has remained in proportion as I have aged which still lets me look decent in what I wear. My boobs bounce now when I jog on the treadmill so I’ve taken to the elliptical. Back when I still had all my hair and would be out shopping with my wife,I’d love it when the salesclerk would come up from behind and ask,”can I help you ladies?”
