It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I chose Tina because my male name is Tim. The two words are very similar in appearance when written in cursive, too. I can use my initials when I want to be androgynous in paperwork and usernames. I honestly don’t remember when I chose Tina, or the details of why, because it’s been my femme name for so long. My femme last name starts with an “S”, so my femme initials became “TS” which I liked as well. Some time later, I decided Tina is short for Valentina, so I will now, as I age, sometimes introduce myself as Valentina. It seems like a more appropriate name for a mature woman.
My female forname is the name my parents would have given me if I’d been biologically born as a girl.
Esther (Switzerland)
You look Great Esther.
That was my Mom’s name and she was the Greatest Woman I’ve known.
I chose the name Annette back in the 90’s because it was low key and sexy. It seemed everyone that I knew was Tiffany, Michelle or Stephanie. As an androgyne, there’s not much difference between my male side (Jack) and Annette as you can see from the enclosed photos.
You’re right, you look Great either way but better as Annette
I have always been fascinated about being a girl and being called by a girly name . One of my most favourite names is Ramya , which reminds me of one of my best friends from early childhood. I used to say( to myself) I wanted to be like her in every way . Since then I had loved the name and hence i became Ramya !!!!
I just felt the name Suzy was very feminine, so that why I chose it. And changing the subject a little bit, if you ladies are shopping for shoes and there is a Rack at Nordstrom close by you should check it out! The have tons of high quality discounted shoes with sizes up to 13! Here I am yesterday at one of their stores. I’m a size 10 in women’s shoes. They also have a ton of cute clothes too. I just had to share this find with you all!
my name came about at the age of 5 or 6 years old had been to my first birthday party. all the girls had their party dresses on, the boys grey short trousers white shirt. i did not understand why i felt i should be wearing one of those dresses. i asked my MOTHER on the way home if i could be a girl called PAMELA. Did not get my wish, it was 14 when i thought i would add FAITH as my surname. i had a lot of faith i would become a real female . at that time
I matched my male initials, and go by the middle name, which is the same as my grandfather’s half sister( from his father’s first marriage)
Lizzie was a closeted lesbian, so it seems only fitting I should honor her memory
Forgot to mention: Lizzie was born in 1862. She didn’t dare “come out” in that era. I have her diaries. Even there, she never openly states her sexuality, but she alludes to it, time and again. She must have been sadly frustrated for much of her life. I wish I had known her.
My Mom was very open about hoping for a girl when she was pregnant. When I was born even the nurses knew so they put me in a pink blanket with a ribbon in my hair. Mom always said I was supposed to be “Jennifer”, so for me it’s as natural to me as my male name. I wish now that I had been open about my crossdressing. I suspect she would have approved and helped.
What a wonderful name !!!!
