It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
My first name, “Regina”, is the Latin word for “queen” and the name of the capital city of the Canadian prarie province of Saskatchewan. My last name, “Vowna”, is the Belarus word for “wool”. As a whole, “Regina Vowna” is an anagram for “vagina owner”.
Initially I wanted a name that none of my female co-workers shared and I spent sometime go and back and forth between Monica and Veronica. In addition to Monica I asked my mother what name my father and her had picked out for me IF I had been born a girl and Elizabeth was it.
While growing up I always heard the song Diana by Paul AnKa. I love the song and besides Diana is the name of ‘Wonder Woman”, Diana Prince! Di is Greek meaning,”Goddess” and ana is Greek meaning,”Sensual!” Diana fit my personality perfectly!
From your Great picture, it definitely fits
Being in spanisch speaking countries nearly everyone called me Carlos, some Kalotta and Charlotta evolved. Fits, doesn’t it?
My male name is michael eric so I reversed the names in order Erica Michelle. you can call me Michelle the Belle
Glori is a short version of a drag name I have used. Gloriola ( a play on glory-holer). It is also a cool type font. Cheers!!!!
I got my name from my mother. I’ve been told by more then one person that was the only name she had pick out but when the doctor told her I was a boy and that she couldn’t take me home tell she gave me a name it took her 3 days to come up with a male name for me. So I got name after the doctor. I’ve also been told I wouldn’t ware boys close till I had to for school got sent home twice from elementary school for wearing a dress. Parents have old super 8 movies of me wearing girls close at a very young age. Old sent home again in middle school and the second time in high school was ask not to come back to school so I dropped out. Tried to hide it got married have 3 kids and 9 grandchildren. Told wife after our first child she’s doesn’t let dress at home or around the kids but everyone knows still married 39yrs.
I’ve been dressing since I was 4 years old with the help of my mom and aunt. When my mom passed away my aunt and I thought it would be appropriate to take my mothers name (Elisabeth). Since that day I have lived as a woman and have never looked back.
