It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Many of us grow into the names we are given at birth. Others never feel a connection to their name.
But crossdressers and transgender women have the unique advantage of being able to choose their feminine names.
There’s a unique story behind every great femme name… and I’d love to hear YOURS!
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please share your story in the comments below. And for extra credit, include a photo! It’s even better to be able to place a name to a face.

I picked Candi because the only girls i knew with that name were either strippers or hookers. I also liked the scene in the movie highlander when the one guy had a hooker come to his room and when she got to the door she was dressed in a real sleazy dress and announced’go, I’m Candi’. Considering my wardrobe and what I’m getting myself into, i figured that’s who i am.
Well, a good number of years back, I participated in a chat room for cross-dressers. Many had fem names and I did not at the time. But, I got to thinking about it and starting thinking about what name I would like as my fem name. My initials are D W C. So, I thought of names that started with a D and with a W. After going through a number of names, I decided on Diana Whitney, using my first and middle initials, as my fem name. I like the name and the two names stand for two very lovely ladies. When ordering stuff online as Diana, I do use my real last name and have things delivered to me, via my complete fem name, here at home. I even get several female clothing catalogs delivered to me in my fem name.
I just added a “A” to the end of may name.. I just like how it sound so I stuck to it..
I don’t really have much of a backstory. My birth name is Eric and my chosen female name is Erica. It was one of the first girl names I latched onto and was called by my girlfriend at the time as a joke (not a negative joke) before she knew about me being trans. It’s a little funny thinking about that actually.
When I was born my mother was wanting a girl! My first five years for the most part I was reared as a girl. When I was twelve she remarried and she toke me to our family doctor to make me a 100%
male. Did not work! LOL
Thanks. My Godfather’s name was Francis; my Godmother’s name was Frances; and my middle name was Francis. So I dropped the “s” and inserted “e” Voila! Francie!! Easy to remember, hard to forget, and readily accepted.
Me being me, I guess. Close to Daniel, I was supposed to be named Andrea, guess I hid my ‘stuff’ good enough in the ultrasound, so I was named after my Dad. So I’m Danni ..
I started using Victoria’s Secret to order lingerie from their catalogs. One model who particularly impressed me with her style and beauty was Karen Mulder and hence I adopted the name. Not that I could look even remotely like her Lol
