It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I had recently had a major traumatic experience in my life. Had been seeing a therapist for the resulting depression. I came out to my therapist, and this discussion overruled any other events. I had numerous days where I was considering suicide. I was driving down the road, very fast, when a voice in the back of my head told me to slow down. I asked why, and the voice said her name was Sandra Michelle, and that she had things to do, and did not want to die. I slowed down. My depression mostly lifted, not entirely. Still have things to work on. She is me. Don’t know where I came up with my name. But, this is what it is. I am Sandra, Sandy to my friends. Luv to all.
My male name was Christopher or Chris so first I started using Cris but quickly added another S Making it Criss. As I began to feel and look more female I added an A at the end and chose a new middle name. I decided on Joy for my middle name because joy is what I feel when I imagine myself as a woman! So, now I am becoming Crissa Joy Lee instead of Christopher Scott Lee
since birth my name has been the gender neutral name Taylor
My name came from my male name. I just changed the y to an i. Bobbi was also my Mother’s nickname so it was a tribute to her as well.
Choosing my femme name was quick and easy. It sounds just like my male name. Think it suits me too.
Sabrina was picked out for me if I had been born a girl. My dad had left during her pregnancy and I was reared androgynous my first five or six years! Must have left a big imprint on me!!!
