“Passing as a woman” is the Holy Grail for many crossdressers and transgender women.
But is it really a goal worth pursuing?
If you’ve been afraid to show your feminine side for fear of not “passing,” it might be time to rethink your priorities.
I believe everybody has the potential to pass, but let’s face it… it’s not always easy!
It could take years to master all the subtleties of walking, talking, and presenting yourself as a woman. You might even require surgery to be truly passable in all situations.
That means that unless you plan to live as a woman full time, trying to become 100% passable just isn’t practical.
Rather than getting hung up on passing vs. not passing, I suggest you make it your goal to “blend in” instead.
Blending in means you look feminine and harmonious enough not to stand out in a negative way – even if you aren’t 100% passable.
Most people don’t scrutinize everybody around them, so unless there’s something glaringly off about you, you are unlikely to attract a second glance.
Does this mean everybody will think you are a cisgender (genetic) woman? Probably not. But it doesn’t matter.
The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t care whether they pass or not. They care about being themselves.
Passing is great when it happens, but there’s nothing wrong with being seen as the classy crossdresser or transgender woman that you are!
As long as you choose the right environment and present yourself well, you are likely to be met with acceptance.
Now I’d love to hear from YOU!

Lucille
As a trans fluid person, I would like to be more passable as a woman. although as a dad and grandfather along with being 74 I do find it hard at times to pull off.
I am transitioning male to female. Hormones start the end of this month. My goal is woman as possible in my own skin. I do not want to look like any female. I want to look female in my own skin. I am full time except for work. This time next year I am throwing a huge party for my birthday starting the day as Mitch, taking off fo an hour then coming back as me and for 24/7 after that moving forward in my life.
I think that keeping the ‘goal’ of being passable is always there. It keeps us trying and improving and that is a good thing I believe. At 6-7 it is practically impossible for me unless sitting or driving. We all have our obstacles I guess…
Hugs all,
Riki
It’s been a while since I’ve made a comment but this subject is kind of at the heart of most if not all MTF cross dressers and trans women. I always dreamed of wearing cute little outfits, form fitting dresses or a swimming suit. However body shape and bone structure will not allow me to freely dress as a woman without presenting outrageously obvious. As Lucille has said many times we need to choose clothing, make-up, hair styles, etc. to hide certain things while focusing on others so we can blend in better. The more I watch other women the more I notice how many would look just as outrageous in those outfits as I would. So I am working on my mannerisms, attitude, body language and so on. I agree that blending in is a much more attainable goal. Don’t waste your precious time trying to reach for something that is out of reach for most us. Being out dressed as me and having fun times is much more satisfying than staying home waiting until you are sure you will pass as a woman.
Ultimately , the goal is to be happy in your own skin . BUT…… we are , in a way , representing women . Do you see many women go to the grocery store or anywhere else looking crazy ?! No . They look like women . Whether they’re slim and drop dead gorgeous or a BBW that’s average in looks , they look like women . That’s what I try and do . I’m transitioning from male to female and it’s a LITTLE easier to do , but I still have to work at it . I know I’m not 100 % passable , but I am good with that . The real women still give me looks of approval !
I’m retired, age 70 and 5’6″ about 160 lbs. I have actually found that as I grow older, I am much better at blending in as a woman wherever I go. I pretty much live as a woman now about 90% of the time. I never have a problem be it shopping, going out to eat, using the ladies room, etc. I just try to blend in as a natural woman at all times. Nothing outrageous to bring attention to myself. Suzy
It depends what the person I will be in relationships.
My goal is to be as passable as possible , may I know your opinion ?
Omg yes and with flying colors!! And your legs are absolutely amazing
