If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.

How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!

Hi Ladies:
All of my under garments are womens. I wear panties and panty hose everyday. I know most gg don’t, but I love them. I also wear a camisole, womens t-shirts and socks everyday. I also use womens deoderant and i use a lip plumper everday. It helps keep me in touch with my fem side everyday.
Thanks, Lisa
I’m always in feminine underwear, lovely panties and my ‘boobies’ have grown quite a lot over the past 2 years, up to a ‘B’ cup size now. My toe-nails are kept a permanent ‘girlie’ red, and my fingers are treated to various shades of lovely girlie colours. I wear ladies jeans and tops almost every day and am enjoying my increasing femininity. In short, to quote the words of an old song, “I enjoy being a girl”. Most of my friends know my not so secret ‘secret’ and accept me for what I am.
Thank you Lucille for all you do for us.

Hi Lucille and all you other Girls out there,
All great advise in how to stay a feeling like a wonam.
I wear female under clothes 100% of the time and have for about 10 years. All my clothes are woneens or unisex and I have a wonderful time shopping for them. I also wear either clear or very light pink nailpolish without ever having anyone question me about it. Lipstick is only a shade darker than natural so is almost undetectable. But WOW do I feel great when I am out and about.
Your ideas on perfune sound wonderful and I can hardly wait to start trying that out.
Love
Mya
I just love the ideas for is. I already wear ladies clothes ,and have been doing so outside alot more. To stay girly I also pierced my other ear and im continuing to grow my hair.I have found the real me with your help but need more work.
Dear Lucille,
95% of my shoes and clothing was purchased in the ladies departments of various shops. These are the things I wear 99% of the time. I wear nylon panties, ladies jeans or slacks with blouses everyday. I wear ladies loafer or tennis shoes. I either wear black, brown, or navy tights or color coordinated socks.ie: red socks with a red shirt or blue with blue, etc. I bathed with scented bathwash, use scented shampoo, use scented body lotions and use Mitchum flower fresh deodorant every day. I do not wear a bra every day. When I don’t i wear A-cup self adhesive pads. This gives me a slight bust and no one has ever commented. Thank you for all you do. Susan H.
I am like you but not all the way yet. but to make me feel like a women i don’t need just heels or a blouse but I have women socks, only buy women sneakers, size 6 jeans, even my tank tops are women but can pull a unisex thing themselves. but to know im in women’s clothing (which I should be anyways) I feel like a women.
All such wondreful ideas! Plus complete, and constant depilation. Unisex hair style, and a recent solution to male pattern baldness could be a real breakthrough. Feminine hygeine products? Eyebrows and lip plumping products. So little time, so much fun.
Sometimes its hard to be a woman, but “you’re worth it!”
Of course, panties and pantyhose are a must. When wearing shorts, I have cut the panty section with a bit of the leg tops from old pantyhose to keep that feminine feel around my butt and groin. Girdles are wonderful. I prefer sport bras or even better, camisoles or full slips. I normally wear women’s sneakers with hose or girly sox. My nails are too long for a guy’s and I get lots of comments from girls who wished their nails could be that long. I love to leave a bit of lipstick smeared on cigarette butts.
More than above, I try to keep my movements feminine, not just walking but everything. I use two hands holding a cup or glass, always keep elbows close to the sides, knees together and always one foot to the side, and I love to stand with one hand on my hip. Most of all, always using the feminine mind.
Perhaps I am just fortunate, but as for myself, and most girls I know, pantyhose are anything but a must. I may wear them on special occasions. I will wear tights when the weather calls for it.
I started transitioning while in the Army. And yes, I plucked the hair out of my legs then too. Some of the meetings with the command were done just after PT, so we were all in shorts. My legs were unsettling for allot of the men there.
