On your journey to becoming a fabulous female, it helps to look at role models. Some of my favorite examples of beauty and femininity are the leading ladies of Old Hollywood.
Want to add more sparkle and glamour to your life? Try these 6 tips from Old Hollywood that can be applied to your own feminine transformation!
1. Joan Crawford – Good hair goes a long way
“I think that the most important thing a woman can have – next to talent, of course – is her hairdresser.” – Joan Crawford
Few things have a bigger impact on your appearance than your hair. This applies whether you wear a wig or style your own natural hair. If you want to look younger, prettier, and more feminine, the right hairstyle is the secret. Here are the 6 best hairstyles for crossdressers and transgender women.
2. Sophia Loren – Believe that you are beautiful
“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.” – Sophia Loren
All the lipstick, hairspray, and surgery in the world can’t make you beautiful if you don’t feel it on the inside. Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your own unique beauty and femininity. Take the advice of Sophia Loren and believe that you are beautiful.
3. Audrey Hepburn – Always be elegant
“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” – Audrey Hepburn
Who could be more elegant than Audrey Hepburn herself? With her sophisticated style and graceful demeanor, she’s my favorite example of ladylike elegance. If you want to emulate Audrey Hepburn, you can start by avoiding these 5 mistakes that make you less ladylike.
4. Eartha Kitt – Don’t worry about the haters
“I have used all the manure that has been thrown on me as fertilizer to make me stronger.” – Eartha Kitt
If there are people in your life who don’t understand you, rest assured that you are not alone. Even somebody as fabulous and gorgeous as Eartha Kitt had her share of haters. Instead of letting them get you down, use their manure as fertilizer to make you grow stronger.
5. Marilyn Monroe – Find your signature scent
“What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course.” – Marilyn Monroe
Scent is strongly linked to emotions, which means the right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. Scent also triggers memories. Applying a signature scent that makes you feel fabulous can instantly bring back feelings of confidence and femininity. Take a tip from Marilyn Monroe and find your own signature scent.
6. Mae West – Live life to the fullest
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” – Mae West
Choosing to embrace the woman within is a bold decision. You should be applauded for this! Many people never dare to express their deepest desires or true selves. As Mae West said, you only live once. So live life to the fullest – feminine self and all!
Who inspires YOU?
As you as inspired by these classic beauties as I am? If so, I’d love to know who you favorite Old Hollywood actresses are – and which “lessons” you have learned from them.

This is an awesome question.
My old time actress who inspired me as a cd was Elizabeth Taylor.
She had classic beauty glamour, and femininity.
I just loved how she looked so beautiful and how she dressed, especially in her silky nylon and lace trim full slips, in her famous movies:
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
Butterfield 8.
To me, she was very attractive, and she was the ultimate in beauty and femininity.
Seeing her in these movies motivated me to wear gorgeous nylon and lace trim full slips, nylon brief panties, nylon stockings and garterbelts from the 1950’s era.
My classic lingerie favorites of all time.
Pure class and dignity. A sharing lady with time for us regular people.
I like these quotes especially by Sophia Loren – focus on your own unique beauty – don’t let others decide that for you. Also, a Sandra Bullock quote which includes ‘we waste so much time making decisions based on someone else’s idea of our happiness’.
my inspiring actress the sexy and classy susan lucci i think she is the ideal woman and id luv to be and look like her i try to act as sexy as she doesand still be classy
My inspiration is not a Hollywood celebrity, but female impersonator icon Paul Lavern Cummings (pictured). Lavern was the headliner at Finocchio’s in San Francisco for 23 years in the 1960, 70 and 80s. She was the ultimate in femininity and was a fabulous singer. Oddly enough, we have become friends and she now retired and lives in Las Vegas. You can see more of Lavern on You Tube and if you wish to see more pictures of Lavern, contact me. Hugs, Carollyn
What an inspiration! I love this story. Thank you sharing, Carollyn!
I have an appointment with a endocrinology next month to discuss hormone therapy. I will know more in the coming months. So in a few months I will update my progress
