Are you a crossdresser or transgender woman who wants to look as attractive as possible? If so, you’re in the right place!
The great news is that anyone can achieve a beautiful and feminine look – no matter their age, size, or shape.
However, there are certain image mistakes you’ll want to steer clear of. These blunders can significantly detract from a feminine appearance.
In this blog post on transgender beauty tips, I’ll be sharing 10 common MTF image mistakes to avoid.
1. Dry Or Cracked Lips
The lips are one of the most sensuous parts of a woman’s appearance. Full, moist lips are undeniably sexy.
Dry, cracked lips are a major distraction, so be sure to care for your lips with a nourishing balm or lip treatment.
2. Dirty Or Untrimmed Nails
Studies show that the better groomed you are, the more attractive you are perceived to be.
Keeping your hands and nails well groomed is important since hands are one of the first areas people notice (after the face).
Straggly nails are a sign of poor grooming habits, so pay extra attention to your hands and fingernails to enhance your feminine look.
3. Crossing Your Arms
Your body language speaks volumes. Crossing your arms is a defensive gesture that can make you look uneasy or insecure.
To project confidence and attractiveness when presenting as female, keep your body in an open and relaxed position.
4. Poor Table Manners
Etiquette is an important part of your feminine presentation. (So much so that I wrote an entire blog post about it here.)
Poor table manners are a huge turn off, so be watchful for things like: eating too fast, chewing loudly, and putting your elbows on the table.
5. Lack Of Sleep
They call it beauty sleep for a reason. From dark under eye circles to sallow skin, lack of sleep can take a serious toll on your appearance.
If you need help sleeping, check out my Sleep & Sparkle Program, which is designed to guide you to sleep while reprogramming your mind with feminizing suggestions.
6. Pulling The Diva Act
We can all agree that rude and demanding people are unattractive – so avoid the “diva” act.
On the other hand, kindness and a smile can work wonders to enhance your female appearance!
7. An Unnaturally High Pitched Voice
If you are trying to feminize your voice, then you may be tempted to speak in an overly high-pitched voice.
While it’s true that women have higher pitched voices, speaking in “falsetto” does not sound natural.
What’s more, this study shows that women with high pitched voices are considered less attractive than those with moderately-high pitched voices.
All the more reason to speak in a more natural vocal range!

8. Overpowering scents
Scent has a major impact on your overall attractiveness. Obviously, you’ll want to avoid turning people off with overpowering perfume or bad breath.
On the flip side, the right scent can make you appear more feminine and attractive. See my post on The Feminizing Power of Perfume to learn more.
9. Not Being Able To Walk In Your Shoes
The cutest shoes in the world won’t enhance your image if you can’t walk in them. Be sure you can walk comfortably and gracefully in your heels before stepping out in them.
10. Cursing
This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Using profanity when you speak doesn’t make you sound cool and edgy – it makes you sound crass and rude.
Your words can make or break your feminine image, so use them wisely.
In conclusion
These are 10 major crossdressing / transgender beauty blunders – but they’re not the only ones! Do you have any others to add to this list?
I’d love to hear from you on this topic, so please leave your comments below!

P.S. Now that you know what NOT to do, learn how to increase your attractiveness with my FREE 3-part Male to Female Transformation Mini Course.
Good hygiene, manners and treating others with respect are fundamental, regardless of gender. Profanity is unnecessary and persistent use displays a lack of communication aptitude. Smoking stinks and second hand vape is gross. A pet peeve of mine are people with arrogant attitudes. As for not being able to walk in heels, we can support each other and have some good laughs!
My goodness Morgan wish I could look as good as you simply beautiful
That’s very kind of you to say.
Thank you, Helen!
Love your looks my dear ! Great job
Thank you, Teasha!

You ladies are all right .thanks Luculle for all your help love ya Jen
I have seen lots of trans women’s videos on YouTube. And I have came across ones where there voices are to high, and that’s most of what I think about. They just need to keep it where it is but soften it, well the pitch. Also its a pet peeve of mine, I hate smoking to me it makes you go from a 10 really attractive to 0 unattractive.
I also agree with you Christy on the smoking thing! I hate that trait for both men and women. Yuck! Also your right on the voice, just use your own voice softened up a bit and you will be fine. Coming off with a super high falsetto voice is a dead give away. And finally, just present yourself as any other woman would when out and about. Here is me at age 72 shopping the other day.
Wow you look great for 72. It looks like your in your 50’s. And your right just present your self as any other women would, I have been full time for about eight years now. And haven’t had any issues at all after the first year going full time.
Christy, I 100% agree about smoking! Ugh!!
Me too!!! It stinks and is TOTALLY disgusting! I nearly threw up when someone who had just smoked a cigarette tried to kiss me!
Uh-oh, I’m starting to babble! But I just have to add an observation based on “Pulling the Diva Act”. It’s so tempting when standing with some women conversing, to jump in any old time, hog the conversation, even come on as a know-it-all. That is SO unfeminine! I know, some women do that too, but they are being divas when they do so. Please note that most women truly share a conversation, taking their proper turns, etc. Sometimes a little excited enthusiasm that boils over is ok, but fair play and respect are the rule. I mention this because sometimes it is REALLY difficult to walk that talk.
Ok… i really need to know more about that rule… i never really knew to watch for those things. So be patient, don’t rule the conversation, and take turns speaking. I need to really understand the conversation. Thanks! Poof.
I hear you, Joan! It’s not easy to be the classy one in some situations. 😉 That is one of my biggest pet peeves also.
Hi
The advice provided in your latest blog is so on-the-mark, as always. I am in the U.K., and – my ‘male’ shoe size being UK size 11 (with wide fitting) – I have great difficulty finding stockists of sufficiently-large footwear (ladies).
Any recommendations, please?
Warm regards, Richard
Ebay is where I get my size 11 uk, or my favourite is Long Tall Sally who have excellent choice if somewhat expensive.
Hi
I am really obliged to you for the information.
Kind regards
Richard
All excellent points. The number one thing that amuses me is when the voice is not feminine.
Well! Hello, Lucille admirers. I don’t know where to start. Everything is SO right on, as usual. I have committed some of those offenses, sadly enough. My nails are usually a disaster, from not finding enough time to care properly. Miraculously, protein cream is helping a lot. I try to keep my scent subtle, since I find a powerful perfume oppressive. But a faint touch of a sensual fragrance is a nice enhancement on rare occasions. I like the admonition about cursing. It’s nice to be able to avoid crude language. But, once you get the reputation of not cursing, the timely use of a crude word gets the attention you may need for some important comment. And, it’s so much more effective, if it is almost never done. This is hugely subject to judgement, of course.
Honey, for the nails….. go twice a month…once at minimum. ..and get a manicure. Even when I was faking being male, and a Marine (there’s no such thing as an EX-Marine) I got mine. The one time someone asked me about it, I blamed it on peeling nails… like onion skin… and, “why not? 15 bucks to hold hands with a pretty girl for an hour! ”
As for scent. … I purposely made VANILLA my signature scent! Seriously, my man cannot walk into a bakery without either missing me or….. getting aroused!
We pump it onto Main Street at Disneyland in order to make people hungry. I do too….. but, for ME!
Thank you SO MUCH, Laura, for your reply. You are very right about manicure; I really must do that. Very intriguing thought about vanilla…
I think the only thing on this list that I may be guilty of is lack of sleep. I normally get 5 to 6 hours of sleep a night, but it doesn’t seem to bother me. Otherwise, I just try to emulate women, and be as feminine as possible. Here I am the other day on one of my daily outings. I seem to be treated as any other woman doing her thing! As I get older (I’m 72), being accepted as a woman seems very easy now for me. I love it!
Wow, congratulations. I am 64 and starting my male to female transition. I can only hope to look half as good as you do at 72.
I cannot believeyou are 72…you look like mid-fifties…gorgeous.
You ARE a woman!!!!!!!
Well the guns are a bit of a giveaway but otherwise yes, totally hot 🙂
Thanks Renee! This girl always loves complements! Here is me again today in my shopping clothes – very casual! Suzy
