Feeling feminine is as easy as slipping into a beautiful bra.
However, it’s not always easy to get the right fit since most bras aren’t designed with crossdressers and transgender women in mind.
But fear not, because there ARE solutions!
In this blog post, I share how to solve your 7 biggest bra problems. Discover how to find the perfect fit and style, so you and “your girls” can look your absolute best.
Problem #1: Wrinkled Or Gapping Bra Cups
Bra cups that don’t lay smooth are a common problem. Fortunately, there are two easy fixes:
- Go down a cup size. The main reason for wrinkles is that your breasts don’t fill out the bra cups. Try going down a cup size. For example, from a 38B to a 38A.
- Choose a demi bra instead of a full coverage bra. Full coverage bras often have extra space at the top of the cup. A demi bra that’s cut lower eliminates this problem.
Problem #2: Can’t Find A Bra My Size
If you opt not to wear breast forms with your bra, it can be tricky to find the perfect fit. Crossdressers and transgender women often struggle to find bras with small cups and large band sizes, as they are not commonly available.
Luckily, I’ve curated a list of bra options specifically catering to those with smaller breasts and broader body proportions:
- Bodycon Multiway Bra – latte – Band sizes 40-46, Cup Sizes B-G
- Flatter Me Bra – Band sizes 40-46, Cup sizes AA-B
- Leading Lady Scallop Lace Bra – Band sizes 36-48, Cup sizes A-DD
- Prima Donna Couture Bra – Band sizes 38-48, Cup sizes B-H
Problem #3: Back Bulge
Another common issue many face is back bulge, often caused by back fat or an ill-fitting bra. So, how can you bid farewell to this dreaded problem?
- Opt for a larger band size. Wearing a band that’s too tight can lead to bulging. Increase your band size by going up one size, such as from a size 42 to a size 44 band.
- Seek bras with flexibility. Look for bras crafted from smooth and stretchy fabrics. These types of bras are less likely to dig into your skin compared to stiffer ones.
- Give longline bras a try. Longline bras feature a wider band that aids in eliminating back bulge. This design provides additional support and helps create a smooth silhouette.
Problem #4: Wide-set Breasts
Wide-set breasts can be a common concern for crossdressers and transgender women due to having a broader rib cage. This can pose two challenges: finding a properly fitting bra and achieving the desired cleavage.
Here are four solutions tailored to wide-set breasts:
- Look for pushup pads. A bra with padding on the sides helps push the breasts together.
- Wear a wireless bra. Underwires can be uncomfortable if they’re not properly centered beneath the breasts. In this case, a wireless bra will fit you better.
- Choose a bra with a wide center panel. The wider the center panel (the triangle-shaped area between the bra cups), the better the bra will fit.
- Find a front closure bra. Front closure tend to have wider-set cups due to the center clasp.
Problem #5: Bra Straps Fall Down
Nothing is more annoying than straps that don’t stay put. Here’s how to solve this problem:
- Tighten the bra straps. Bra straps stretch out over time, so they should be tightened every other month or so.
- Look for silicone bra straps. Some bras have a silicone lining on the straps that helps keep them in place. You can also purchase silicone bra strap cushions that can be worn with any bra.
- Try a different bra style. Balconette and plunge bras tend to have wider straps that are prone to falling. Instead, look for a bra with a racerback or crisscross straps.
Problem #6: Breast Forms Don’t Stay In Place
When it comes to wearing breast forms, choosing the right bra is crucial. Here are five essential tips to guide you:
- Look for a pocket bra. Opt for a bra with built-in pockets specifically designed to hold the breast forms securely in place.
- Go for a full coverage. Another option is a full coverage bra. The cups should fully cover the breast forms for a seamless look.
- Opt for underwires. Select bras with underwires for added support and shape, especially if you are wearing heavy or large forms.
- Ensure a snug bra band. This provides support for the breast forms. To test, put a finger under the band between your breasts. If you can fit two or more fingers, the band is too loose. Tighten it or go down a band size.
- Avoid low cut bras. Low cut bras don’t have enough coverage to support the breast forms. Choose a full coverage bra instead.
- Avoid bras that are too small. Bras that are too small can damage your breast forms. Look for a bra that fits you properly.
Problem #7: Bra Shows Through Clothing
Just like visible panty lines, a bra that peeks through your clothes isn’t exactly fashionable (unless, of course, that’s the look you’re going for).
Here’s how to ensure your bra stays discreetly concealed:
- Look for bras with smooth cups and minimal details. Lacy fabrics and trimmings are pretty, but they often show through lightweight fabrics.
- Wear a black or skin tone bra. The black bra should be worn under dark clothing, while a nude or skin tone bra words best with light colors. Avoid white bras since these tend to show through clothing.

now how can you use the information i just gave below?
through experience i discovered normal female sizes dont apply to you until you have a body like a woman. any way when i first measured myself my way i thought i needed a 40B or C cup but saw that the cups were two big . the error i believe was my breasts pointed outward slightly instead of straight like most females this has a great affect on how you fill a cup , that wet tee event at Macy’s was the solution. i looked in the saw my breasts and headed straight to the bra dept to which i had a lady there fit me with the right size perfect fitting bra. my true size is 38 B cup not a 40b cup but if i went to a 40 it would be a 40Acup which are hard to find the tape measure lies to us trans genders
we think were bigger then we are. but this is what you can do to cheat so you can get the pretty bras that girls wear. the limitation is the strap size. there is band extenders that can make your band size bigger if you need to. but a lot of the quality bras have soft bands and will expand one extra size . going down one band size means you go up one cup size. believe me 38 B cups are easier to find the 40A cups and you get more to choose from.
forgot to mention, cup size is relative to band size.a 40A CUP is near the same size cup as a 38Bcup. so larger band size the cups will be bigger to . so if you go down in band size you will need a larger cup, and bigger band size, you’ll need smaller cup, so C cups are not always C cups its all relative to band size.
i’m a full time trans, wear a 38B, but most of the time i go braless since i’m so perky. to me i wear bras to be modest, a lot of times my nips and areolas will show through thin light weight tops , like light weight tees. and if its cold out, ouch, nips will scream at you so bras can keep you warm, but in the summer breasts get warm and sweat a lot , i was horrifide one time in the mall i look in the mirror and saw the wet tee shirt effect . everyone could plainly see my boobs. lucky i was in Macys and purchased a few more bras to wear and put one on. now i know better, hot days sweaty boobs, wear a bra if you have a tee on.freezing cold days , wear a bra or your nips may hurt if you go out side lightly dressed to get the mail.
Very good point Annie about the your nipples and the weather! I am the kind of woman that is an exhibitionist so I just love the attention! I was under the impression that all girls like attention but maybe I am wrong?
Hugs n kisses

I didn’t become a lady for attention, it seemed more like i needed to be a lady. it seems like i need acceptance more. iF you hang with ladies , they always wish they had perky breasts, secondly if they had them they prefere the freedom of bra-less if they could painlessly and modestly. a little head lights are not a bad thing most of the time. my girls are proud and breath if they can get away with it. i definitely have to much to go shirtless. but years ago i went to a Arkansas bath house full of old dudes naked , they covered me up. it was very interesting. lucky i was a lot smaller then. being Trans outside of Seattle can be risky . but i didnt do it for attention, only to make a point that being born a dude does not mean you need to look like one, just be the person you need to be inside. some women are attention Sl*ts also, but only if classy is my only rule.
I suppose I look more like a cisgender athletic woman now but do have the general bra issues that transgender women have.
Today I threw away about 12 underwire bras in various sizes as my continued wearing of them has caused some irritation to my skin below my left breast. I do have a wide separation between them but I have noticed that cisgender women who are athletic also seem to have a wide separation between their breasts also. I think with the expansion of the chest cavity it seems to do this. I admire the look of such women and I sort of look like one of them now. I have been trying different things apart from my HRT to enlarge them but so far nothing has worked. It is hard for me to find my real bra size or sizes and I sometimes prefer to cheat quite a bit with certain bras making them appear when clothed much larger than they really are. There are extra firm “uplifting” bras by Va Bien which I use to create this cheating effect. There is no need for me to fill out the bras with my real breasts or with breast forms: they hold themselves up, however, they ARE underwire so to protect my skin I wear a bandeau bra underneath. Since I have been on estradiol now for over 2 years I have noticed that I am less broad but still broad and my thighs and bottom seem to be larger. I am not sure about my waistline but it seems finer by comparison.
if you wear a bra with a to small band size will cause wire pain. Male chests are larger to breast size then most women. a 40 is ideal for me, but i would need a 40B cup harder to find but can fudge to a 38C on the outer loops. they also have extender clips to make your band size larger. but not all bra makes are standard in all aspects a good bra fitter is fun, and you get a good fit, just be brave and ask for help, even women do this is they are smart and need suggestions.
Love this bra, just wish I could fill it out.
Hi Kristen.
I have posted the below to a couple of the girls who have commented on this forum. Please read this. It is for real:
I am a 42C. I LOVE having breasts and filling my C cups!
Having my own real breasts and wearing bars makes me feel so feminine.
How did I do it? Lucille’s Flat to Fem program! Honestly. It REALLY works!
It takes a little time and patience and you have to stick with it but, it isn’t long before you see results.
Her Sublime Bust product is great to because it help make your breasts firm and perky so that they don’t look like flabby, old lady boobs.
I swear by both those products.
Don’t worry about filling out the bra with your beautiful face no one is looking at your breast.
like real women, you need a bit of fat to truly go into puberty. your body weight looks about right for your breast size. fat will give you more shape every where , even possibly your boobs.
I’m still working on going full time en femme. So in the meantime, I usually wear sports bras. They don’t arouse suspicion since they look like a tank top. We wear t-shirts where I work as a uniform. Never had a problem or comment from anyone. And a sports bra minimizes my B-cup breasts that I have been working on naturally with soy, herbs and other feminizing techniques. Unless I want to show them off dressed up. 😉
This was a wonderful and very informative message from you Lucille!! I have been very fortunate that my breasts have grown to fill my B cup bras and I feel fantastic! I did ecperience many of the things mentioned as it took time for them to grow. I am on my way to a C cup and that is plenty for me!! But girls, be patient, stay true to yourselves, and enjoy the journey, it is soooo worth it!!!
Thanks to your Flat to Fem program Lucille I do not need breast forms any more. I have my own natural C cup perky girls. 🙂
I have a number of bras from Hips and Curves and absolutely LOVE the beautiful, lacy bralettes that you mention in this article. They are great for lounging around. But, I have noticed that because of the wide-set straps they do tend to fall down if I wear them when engaged in activities. Tightening the straps helped a little but not completely.
My Fruit of the Loom front close bras from Amazon have proven to be both comfortable and supportive. Love those.
