If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.

How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!

I’ve been full time for a good number of years, but it still helps to remind myself to have a more girly presence. Like remembering how I should be walking and talking, and other clues. The advantage of that is being more conscious of my femininity, and loving it! A current project is continuing to avoid swaying my shoulders when walking, as men do. A benefit of that is more swaying of hips to keep proper equilibrium. Well, that’s just delicious! So anyway, props like clothing and stuff are great reminders, since you are usually aware of them.
I’m married to a woman and have discovered my deep love for my feminine side! I absolutely love it and cherish my times to dress! My wife knows a little about my desires but not the depth. I’ve been wearing panties now for about a year and I love how they make me connect with my fem side!! Next up is thigh highs or tights under my jeans. Maybe a corset under my tops.
Due to my circumstances, I find that looking back on photographs helps me cope with my inner demons.
Yes Lucille, I love to find ways to feel as girly as I can when I’m not able to dress fully as Cathy. Your first point is the one that works for me.
Even going out with my wife and 1 or 2 other couples, I can wear a tight stretch-lace thong and squeeze my way into tight skinny jeans, as many guys wear these the last few years. I also love to shave my legs and use lavender moisturizing lotion to feel so silky smooth under my jeans.
With the weather here in LA cooling off and it getting dark around 5:00pm each day, I can easily get by unnoticed wearing a comfy bra with a stretch camisole under a sweater or short with a light jacket. Not molded cups, but stretchy soft cups hold my 36Cs secure without having them jut out too obviously under my clothing.
If I’m really in the mood to feel girly in guy mode, I’ll also insert a tampon or use a maxi-pad wedged up into my panty’s nice and tight, then wear lace top thigh highs over my silky smooth shaved legs under my skinny jeans. I’ll also wear unisex Espadrilles that have a feminine feel with my stocking feet inside, but they still work for typical guy outfit.
When wearing panties I always wear a pad and sometimes insert a tampon to make the feeling even more feminine.
Hi Cathy,
Does your wife know of your dressing?

Besides wearing panties everyday i also had my ear’s pierced

Hi Lucille,
I don’t know if you have any plans on doing this kind of content, but I’ll ask anyway.
How can a MtF CD reach a cis woman (and possible future girlfriend/wife) about his femme side?
This is a question that really troubles me.
Cheers,
Elina
Hi – these are all great suggestions! However, personally, now that I’m retired, and at age 74, I dress now as a woman pretty much 24/7. I love the feeling of being out and about and try to present myself as feminine as possible. I am always treated like a lady wherever I go! So much fun! Here I am at Macy’s about a week ago trying on a dress! Have fun, Hugs, Suzy
You look very awesome
