Traveling offers a fresh perspective on the world and can be especially liberating for crossdressers and transgender women.
When you go on a trip, it’s an opportunity to express your feminine self away from the routines and expectations of home.
The freedom to be your true self in a new, unfamiliar place can be truly liberating!
Considering all the benefits of taking a transgender or crossdressing vacation, I’m curious: Do you travel en femme?
Please take my poll and share your MTF travel experiences or aspirations in the comments below!

I have so many stories that include travel. I write books about it. As a woman I have been to 26 countries. Including Columbia (what a trip) and Indonesia (scarier than Columbia). Most states, and many long solo drives across country (some in Europe).
Key items when traveling out of the US of A:
Be confident
Always dress property with appropriate make-up.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Be a Lady, and respect local traditions as it applies to women.
Travel with friends if possible.
Stay in better hotels, with security if possible (That’s just for scary countries. Then sometimes a security person is needed, this is for business trips other wise why go to scary countries.)
Keep copies of all your ID’s. Passport and drivers license and any transgender documentation you may have. Keep them in a separate location and one set at home with friends. (Needed that in Paris of all places.)
Of course be friendly. Not talkative. Reserved. Never discuss politics. Or religion (unless it appropriate, Like in Israel)
Here is a biggie. Know the word for women and men, plus any symbols. We all got to pee sometime.
Never ever get drunk or high.
Good luck. Remember your not giving up a life. You are enjoying your life the way you want to enjoy your life.

I have traveled En Femme for some time. I had my transformation surgery a few years ago, and have traveled where I had to present my passport and have had no problems. I am a woman, so I present myself as woman, I have no problems. All of my ID identifies me as a woman.
I feel that if you wish to be seen as a woman, present yourself as a woman and enjoy yourself, smile and be happy, don’t be nervous.
Have a wonderful day.

I was 65 when I began travelling en femme. The first time I went by train to Berlin, where I held a public lecture and later strolled all through the city. One year later was my first travel abroad by plane to Split, then by bus all through Croatia, visiting islands, too. Two years later I went to Croatia again and also had a two days trip to Hercegovina, where I freely moved even in a Muslim surrounding. In all this time, I never had any problems whatsoever. People were friendly everywhere. Only twice a man was somewhat openly surprised (Why are you wearing a skirt?), women were even more accepting. Once I needed to hitchhike, because there was no longer any bus to go back, this too worked, though it was not Croatian, but Polish who drove me nearly home. I can only encourage everybody not to be afraid of such experiences. And there is still a difference to my earlier travelling as a man. I like to sit in cafés, drinking my capuccino, observing people, to walk on the promenade. And I smile much more, have eye contact easily. I feel to be completely accepted.
I live as a woman and have several times before but I am a woman this time for final and that has been for a few years now. I am always En Femme and so I travel En Femme. I only travel domestically or someplace I do not need a passport. I do have a fake picture ID that has me as a woman. But I have traveled in private aircraft, trains and buses. Once a group of us rented a Class A motor home and hired drivers while we all hung out in the back and as women. We did have some men with us to keep us company. It’s fun being a woman with other similar women and men that like women like us.
I did get to see other parts of the world when I was younger in the US military. I just want to stay as a woman now so I will only go to where I can be one. I luv being treated like a woman by a man.
