Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!

Lucille

I enjoy thinking I blend-in, and sometimes I do to a certain degree. Mostly I try to stand out. I am 71 years old and 6’2″. I stand out blended or not. I mostly really like to look as pretty as I can for whatever situation I am in. I present consistently and confidently in my being a woman. My attitude allows others to relax into acceptance of me as the woman I am presenting. So, I stand out in non-apologetic pride in being my true self.
I am like Shelly. It depends on the day. If I do my own makeup and hair, it’ll usually be shopping and running errands while fitting in. On the other hand, at least once a month, I go to the salon for a pedicure, 1″ long Gel-X coffin nails, complete hair blowout and makeup application – always so my wife and I can go to a concert or fancy dinner on the Vegas Strip and really stand out. I want it known that I am not just a crossdresser, but am completely transgender 🙂
Whenever I have my Makeup done and go out enfemme my Makeup Artist will ask me how do I want my Makeup done? I always answer I want to look just like the Girl next door!

You look lovely, very skilled in your presentation. Rosemerry XX
And you’ve succeeded. Or is this a pic of the girl next door? It’s difficult to tell because you look so much alike! 🙂 you look beautiful.
I am able to go out in public without heads turning which is really a great feeling.
I know many female at birth women who are well over six feet. They wear what they like which is girl-girl stuff. So basically what I am saying is, it doesn’t matter what your height is, you can still blend in. Yes you will be standing out from height instead of standing out as a male in female cothing.
As for myself: when I am staying in, I get comfortable and no more. If I am staying in the car or gassing up, I will put makeup on so that from a distance, I am seen as female. If I am going to be around others or maybe with others, I will do makeup and go the extra mile to blend in. I can do a soft voice which I am told sounds like a ffemale voice. I try to use this voice whenever I am dressed feminine
Defo stand out! Just today, in only 250 ft of walking distance from the parking garage to my beauty parlor and back, I got chatted up by guys 7 times. Good makeup and dressing sexy (today: LBD, black overknee stiletto boots, goth lace gloves, lotsa bling) is defo a thing
I’m 2 Meters tall before I put on heels. I’m going to stand out wherever I go. So I embrace that and definitely dress in a way that will make me stand out.
