Did you know that your body language makes up more than half of the impression you make on others?
That’s a big part of your feminine image as a crossdresser or transgender woman!
Body language comes down to four key elements: your posture, gestures, eye contact, and facial expressions.
Unfortunately, it’s easy to develop bad body language habits that can undermine a poised and polished appearance.
In this blog post, I’ll share 27 MTF body language mistakes to avoid when presenting yourself as a woman.
27 MTF Body Language Mistakes to Avoid for a Flawless Feminine Image
1. Slouching
2. Constantly checking your phone (this is a biggie!)
3. Biting your nails
4. Rummaging through your purse
5. Crossing your arms
6. Fidgeting
7. Shaking your leg or tapping your fingers
8. Not smiling
9. Scanning the room while speaking with somebody
10. Talking too much with your hands
11. Exaggerated nodding
12. Examining your teeth or face in public
13. Applying makeup in public (other than a quick swipe of lipstick)
14. Resting your chin on your hands and elbows
15. Sitting with your legs apart
16. Clanging your silverware
17. Avoiding eye contact
18. Eye contact that is too intense
19. A weak handshake
20. Clenching your fists
21. Standing too close to people
22. Chewing loudly
23. Talking while you eat
24. Eating or drinking too fast
25. Bending towards your food instead of bringing the food to your mouth
26. Leaning forward too much
27. Leaning back too much
Phew, that’s quite a list, isn’t it? Some of these might seem obvious, but let’s be real – we’ve all witnessed these behaviors in public!
Are you making any of these mistakes? If so, don’t feel bad. (I’ve had to work on some of these myself!) Instead, resolve to improve them.
For fun, do a “body language study” the next time you’re out in public. Notice the subtle actions that enhance or detract from people’s images.
Can you think of any other habits that should be added to this list?
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Please share in the comments below.

Dear Lucille, I wish i could afford your sublime bust serum. Than i would actually be presenting myself as more of a woman.I would like to get my bobies more wedll propotioned as a womans breast.

I have to agree with most of your list but some are just common sense and besides the smiling a positive and confident attitude are the two best markers of a woman.
Allisa….That’s a beautiful dress and you look beautiful in it.
Thank-you Dana, love your hair and I see a very confident and lovely woman.
Allisa ur gorgeous girl xx
Good tips, Lucille..those actions and mannerisms are all related to men.
Another?…when turning around, do it in a graceful swing, barely moving the feet..not moving whole body to do an about face.
Sounds like, pretty much anything we *do* is going to be wrong….”too far forward, too far back”. A lot of these have merit, are spot-on, actually. But the “chin-on-hands”??? I was given to understand that this was a specifically female posture….. often accompanied by a “dreamy” look, often as part of a flirting ‘ritual’. It actually looks cute IMHO. …. I guess, just don’t over-use it.
I’m sorry but what is this list? Its 2018, not 1958 lol
Some of the list I’d agree with, but some is just plain ridiculous, sounds more like an audition for the stepford wives!
Completely support this. As a trans women I feel that you have to have your own identity. In the UK it is quite acceptable to have your resting bitch face on. That said some interesting thoughts. Overall I would say don’t try and be stereotypical if you just want a life.
Mastering a graceful walk in pumps is critical and a cute purse of course 🙂 great tips though def!!!!!!!
